I'm having a problem and people keep telling me to pray.
I'm not sure what kind of prayer to use, but I have it narrowed down to the list below, please tell me which one works the best.
1. kneel and pray to god (the one in the bible).
2. Light a candle for the hindu god Krishna
3. Get a potion from a voodoo witch-doctor.
4. Carve my prayer in a stone and push a virgin into a volcano.
Please tell me which prayer has the best chance of working. Also do you have any evidence that would prove which one works more often? The reason I ask is because throughout history, there have been millions of people who have sworn by all of theses methods.
Thank you.

Stephanie: How do you know that Krishna wasn't responsible?
Sella: How do you know that Krishna wasn't responsible? You don know that he is thousands of years older than the god in the bible don't you?

Storge07: What evidence do you have to support this belief? Krishna is older than jesus....2000 years older. Why don't you like the look on my face? I was born that way!

Cindy: "the easy way out"? Pushing a virgin into a volcano is much harder than praying. Think about it, 1st you have to find a virgin, then you have drive her all the way to an active volcano, while enduring heat, volcanic ash and fatigue. I think you are mistaken, but thanks anyway.

Martin S: These evil spirits you speak of...do they have any special powers? For instance, if I hid in a closet, would these spirits be able to see me through the walls?
If so, what other powers could they exhibit?

1) first thing you need to do is wipe that dirty look off your face ....2) and the second is repent!....3) then read the bible, at least the book of John....4) then follow Jesus and pray to the Father in the name of Jesus confessing your ignorance and pride

Why don't you seriously try option #1? Try it for a month every day, and see what happens. I've done it and God has worked the best: my newborn niece was born with a bad heart and was to be scheduled for surgery, but God healed her before she had it, and now she's perfectly healthy; I was out of a job and I prayed for a specific job and got it (coincidently it was the only one I got an interview for--it's like God already knew it was the one I wanted); I prayed for money to pay off my bills and this year I got the biggest tax return ever--more than 10 times what I've ever gotten! All I'm saying is it's worked for me, so why not?

As for the biblical prayer, the only one that would work for you at this point is to open your heart to your God and creator and accept him as your personal Lord and savior.
To do this, you must first understand why you would even want to do it. Once you understood why you need to do it, then and only then will you feel compelled to do this.
Its all about your heart, and if your heart isnt right with God, neither will your prayers be. God hears the prayers of his own. If you are not his yet, there would be no reason to ask him for anything other than forgiveness for not accepting him into your heart and life.
As for the other three methods that you write of. I am under the belief that they would never work in the first place, but Saten has ways of tempting us to take the easy way out and that is the reject God and by rejecting God, we accept saten and his lies,

It's not necessary to kneel down to pray to the living God of Heaven. The prayers that are guaranteed to work are those that are according to his will. He's not going to do something that's against his will just because you ask Him to.
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
All of those other prayers may produce results, but if they do it will be because an evil spirit is using them to lead you away from God and towards destruction.

Just go to your room. Close the door. And talk aloud whats on your mind. You can kneel and pray and light candles if you want. Prayer is about talking out what is in your heart. Some people could tell you its wrong..blah blah blah. The real connection is how you feel afterwards. Sometimes you just need to get stuff off your chest.

You don't have to kneel, light candles, or anything like that. You have to pray from the heart, and He will hear you. I was standing in the NICU when I prayed over my granddaughter asking God to please spare her life if it was His will. I just talked to him, and let Him know how I loved her, and that I really hated being selfish, but if He would, would He just please let her live. You see the doctors at UNC Chapel Hill, said that there was no hope, but I had God in my corner so I didn't lose hope today she is 12 years old and very healthy. He repaired her damaged heart and made it whole again. The doctors were quite shocked, but miracles do happen, you never know when but they do.

gino_ggg,
Pray to the God of the Bible and be as combative with it as you are with everyone else. I have a feeling that you will get an answer sooner than you think.

It's not a matter of getting a prayer to work. Your relationship with the Creator, whichever name you use, is what's important -- like calling home once in a while to say hi to the folks. Thee's and thou's and that stuff doesn't matter, it's what's in your heart that does.

The virgin. Definitely the virgin.
Haha, I agree with what you're saying... prayer doesn't work. Or at the very least, it's no more effective than a lucky horseshoe or a four-leaf clover or any other "lucky" object. When people pray and they get what they want, they claim that prayer works. When people pray and they don't get what they want, they say, "Well, God mustn't have wanted me to have that!" The logic just boggles my mind.

to pray to god is to talk to him you do not need potions norvoodoo or good karma to do this you just need faith
Start by asking forgiveness to the father and thanking him for what he has done.
Prayer is a conversation thru your heart to God you can get down on your knees or siton a chair it is up to you it is all the same to God Just open up your self and your heart and pray
