It is difficult to see beyond the self-righteous attitude often displayed by Christians or anyone who believes they have "the truth." Plus the efforts of many Christians to criminalize behavior only because it is considered against the Christian dogma. And finally, it doesn't exactly lead to a sense of improvement in society when so many people who claim to be Christian and who claim it has changed their lives proportionally commit more crimes than people who profess no religion whatsoever. You have a dirty house. How dare you comment on mine?

I don't expect Christians to be perfect. I just wish Christianity would stay at church or in the home. Display it if you like, but I wish some would keep their comments on religion and the so called "truth" to themselves. There is no reason to bash others religions or try to "convert" them. We don't need people trekking the streets looking for possible candidates. If someone wants to devote their self to Christianity they'll find the means of doing so.

Because the claim of the Christian is that God dwells in you. That is to say, that your body is a vessel both for you and for the third member of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. We would thus be reasonable in assuming that as a vessel of the Holy Spirit that you would not make God a part of your sin and that you would show some improvement by close association with God. When we don't see you acting better than non-Christians, or when in fact your are even more hateful and arrogant by reason of your election, it creates cognitive dissonance which we resolve thusly:
We cannot see, taste, touch, hear, smell or detect this Holy Spirit, neither by our senses, our instrumentation or by measuring changes in the vessel human it indwells, thus it must not exist and the Christian must be deluded, a hypocrite or both.

I don't expect christians to be perfect. But I do notice they have a tendency to be holier-than-thou, and it I do appreciate it when people who are holier-than-thou get put in their place by having their own shortcomings pointed out. Nobody likes hypocrites, if you know what I mean.

thats usually a response -- do u know that? when people come one home to nother knocking our doors and asking us to join their religion to fill their pockets, thats the way anyone will behave -- be it christians, muslims, jews, hindus or whoever.
when someone isnt perfect they cant condemn others to Hell or kill them. stop preaching and none will preach one back. its like for every action only will there be an equal and opposite reaction.

Because too many Christians are so quick to tell us how horrible we are for just living and trying to enjoy our lives.

Where on earth have you taken that from? I don't want Christians to be perfect. I just want them to stop trying to force religious values in everybody's lives.
