I can't get her to go anywhere with me, she thinks everyone is staring at how obese she is. She is really small on top btw, and has big hips. Tell me she's nuts to think people are laughing at her size, right?
She is trying to lose 50 lbs. Does she have a distorted body image?

for girls, the average "should be" height/weight ratio is 100 lbs for 5 feet and 5 pounds for every inch from there.

That means your girlfriend should be 115 lbs. Although, if she is athletic and has lots of muscle, that could add anywhere from 5-15 lbs.

Point is she doesnt actually have a distorted body image, but is just a little beefy for her height. If she feels like this and wants to fix it, so be it.

If she's going to lose weight, it should be 50 lbs. more like 35. But if she does try to lose weight by exercising and toning her muscles, it will be more like 25 lbs.

Hope this helps.

she probably notices some staring, then exaggerates it to make it sound like everyone is staring @ her. & the staring some of the staring could be about her weight, & some of it because of other features. i am not a witness in this case, but she probably gets laughed @ for her size sometimes. however, depending on where you live, there are a lot of obese folks, & she does not sound surprising or unusual. if she lost 50 lb, she would weigh 100lb. for her height, that is pretty light, unless she has light bones or has not reached puberty. however, if she could reach 100lb without dangerous weight loss methods & maintain (or achieve) decent physical health, she should be fine.

She has a BMI of 27. 19 to 24 is normal. 30 is obese. At 105 she would have BMI of 19. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Yes, she reads to many fashion magazines.

Sounds to me like you need to help her get counseling. No one really cares about her size. Does she need to lose weight, well maybe about 25 lbs, but rather healthy that another Nicole Ritchie. 100 lbs is to small for anybody over 5ft tall.

Help her realize that she is beautiful. She sounds like she is suffering from low-self esteem, so just remind her how beautiful she is the way she is. Everyone's bodies are different and weight that doesn't look good on one 5'3 girl can look great on another.

Yes. That boney Cosmo look is not for everybody. It's hardly for those models that are on the magazine. I would bet losing 30 pounds is more realistic.

in the beginning , you sound like an incredible boyfriend . because of the fact maximum men now a days may well be like your fat Bye. yet No , you for sure extremely shield her, so which you're able to be able to desire to inform her your worrying approximately her and her wellbeing make certain you do it in a approach that asserts "i'm worrying approximately your wellbeing" and not " your getting fat and that i do in comparison to you anymore" because of the fact ladies tend to take issues any opposite direction around then what it acually means. additionally invite her to artwork out with you or go walking to parks , something to maintain her energetic play activities she likes and get aggressive so she will sweat alot. in simple terms make certain you enable her understand your doing this because of the fact you care&love her no longer because of the fact shes gaining greater pounds. wish i help and stable luck =]

If she is unhappy with herself then tell her to do something about it.

She doesn't need to lose 50lbs. Just 25-30.
