I feel great about it! I really don't mind interracial dating. I think its beautiful when people can express their feelings and not bow to the status que placed on us by society. People forget the culture of america and so it seems, there isn't what they would describe a "problem" with this situation, They choose not to address it, well the "problem" is people being color blind, to the specifics of the word, BLIND TO THE COLORS AROUND YOU. They are unwilling to accept them and hence they are not there or you are blind to them. I don't believe in color blindness, its ignorance, it needs to change, be aware of the wonderous variety around you and accept it. I Think its extremly interesting to learn about other people's ways of life. I think its really sad that people of any race can simply 'dis' others becuase they are of any color.

I guess you just have to be strong and have faith in your convictions. If you love this person, that's the most important thing to consider. Granted, there will be problems. Bigotry is alive and well, unfortunately. And most of the ordinary relationship problems that arise will be compounded in a mixed racial one. But two mature people, regardless of their origin, should be able to make their own decisions without interference from intolerant relatives or friends. Of course, if it's parents who are against it, that makes it even harder. But if you should decide to make the relationship permanent, once they see how well and happy you are, they will come to accept your choice. Just hang in there, and my best to both of you.

i've never actually dated a person my race before ... im asian and all i've dated were caucasians .. i knoe in this day and age u;d think this race thing wouldn't b an issue nemore .. but there are still sum times wen u feel da tension there .. whether it b from his family, ur family, or the public ... over time u juz remind urself that this relationship is between da two of u .. do U luv him enough to be with him .. not do U luv him bcuz of his race .. and if u do luv him .. then u learn to ignore all the other snide comments and people that try to stick their hand into this relationship .. it's a lot of pressure .. but it only exists if u let it get to u..

Make sure you are in the relationship for the person. If you are, everything else is just background noise. You have a real "who cares?" attitude. That part is the least of your worries.
Consider your partner. Is s/he just curious? Wants bragging rights? (Ever watch Reservoir Dogs?) Does s/he love you for YOU and appreciate your diversity BECAUSE it is a part of you? Or were they looking for novelty? Our society is biased. Just make sure when you get involved you're not sleeping with the enemy, but you've found a true love and soul mate. They really do come in all colors.

Relationship: that should concern to only the two parties involved only. If in that interracial relationship the main ingredient is love, relatives and friends should stay out of it.

I'm white and I've been married to a dark-skinned latina for six years. Honestly, we don't even think about it anymore. Every once in awhile we'll catch someone gawking but we just kind of laugh. It's their problem. Don't worry about it.

There's always people talking and disapproving of any relationship because they are uncomfortable with it for all their own personal reasons. But as long as the people in the relationship are happy, that is all that matters. =)

YES, my husband is AFRICAN-AMERICAN and I'M MEXICAN and you just have to ignore it. Our love is so strong and deep that nothing no one could ever say to us would ever jepordize our love or relationship. Plus we also have an extrodinary family who on both sides have never looked at race only love.
