I'm working up the nerve to start dating after 11 yrs. (wife passed 11 yrs ago). I don't know where to start, so I guess I'll start here. Passed up many chances due to (fear?) Lost in work since then. Don't need any more F.B.'s, want someone to have fun with.

It just seems to me that women today are awfully demanding, eg. gotta be rich, tall, handsome, smart, funny, serious, popular, and the list goes on. If I have all these wonderful qualities, then what the heck am I doing looking for a date here?

58 is still young when you consider your life expectancy is 85 if you exercise and eat healthy. Younger women (40-50) like older, slower, and more experienced men for a good time. Remember, you know what the younger guys can do with women because you've been there, they don't know what you can do! A good and active sexual life will keep you young. Just be careful not to father any children out-of-wedlock and if you do, marry the girl before the child is born. Having said that, the bar scene is a good place to meet mostly sleazy women who have a lot of baggage, but that's OK just for fun. Try attending some singles dances and dinners sponsored by some religious and non-religious groups. The women are not as sleazy, and some are looking for a good time too. Check your local church bulletins! Go for it!

Well the important thing is that you know your age, since most guys think they are 40 maximum, they try to date 20 year old and miss out on the wonderful women there own age,and never find there 20 year old either, so i believe you will date again, my advice is to find someone around your own age.

Only if you really want to date. There are lots of single middle-aged women out there. I would advise you to go to a salon and do a grooming consultant for updated hair cut and such; same with up to date clothing. In other words a makeover so you feel like a king! Be kind and be willing to meet all women of all ages. You just never know who will fall right in your lap! Godloveya!

Absolutely! Yes there is a great chance, as long as you put yourself out there and go for it. There are lots of mature women who are looking for a mature man to date. Good luck with that.....There is hope for all of us.

I think you should try a dating website to get some dates and practice. A good website that has unbiased ratings is http://www.eDatingRatings.com.
