Or God loves you as long as you follow the rules? Or God loves us like we love our children? You know they don't listen but gotta love 'em anyway. If so, what's the difference between parental love and God's love?

No! I want 10% of your income and you must be heterosexual because then it would just be weird for me to love you.

Well, first God loves you whether you follow the rules or not, whether you believe in Him or not. Most parents love their children, but most parents don't love other peoples children and for that matter most people just don't love strangers. God is love, He is the creator of all things whether you believe it or not. Parents are just the vessels used by God to create their own children.

God loves us much much more than a mother can love her child. We cannot say that a mother's love is always unconditional. The only unconditional love in this world is love with ones life. Even if a child tries to kill his/her mother, the mother will protect herself and even kill the child if she knows that if child survives, she will not be saved.

Many times God does not let us harm ourselves or anyone else. But there is always a limit. If someone go beyond the limit then he/she can no more get God's attention. But on repenting He again listens to him/her.
God says, "you take one step towards God, He takes 10 steps towards you and if you walk towards God, He runs towards you.". This is His love (and it is conditional).

Yet there is one other thing, that He provides for us no matter, how bad deeds do we perform.

I believe God's love is unconditional. Like no matter what you do he won't doubt your love or your loyalty to him because he knows what deep in your heart. Unlike your children sometimes parents wonder what is going through their head. Sometimes parents feel let down and embarrassed of their children. I don't believe that God feels like that. I think he knows deep down inside we are either sorry for what we've done or we're not. Sara.

There is no difference, God loves us rather we are good or bad, He would prefer good, just as parents prefer their children to be good. But the love is the same, when we do something bad He corrects us, and admonish us, but He doesn't stop loving us. So the love is the same. The only differences are He can grant eternal life, and a earthly parent can't. He can heal, and a earthly parent can't we have to rely on someone else or Him to heal them. But we comfort them, and He comforts us.

I asked a similar question a while back. Many Christians say that God will love you no matter what, and that you're parents will not love you at times. It pissed me off, to say the least. My parents might not like some of the things I do, but they are ALWAYS going to love me. I just don't see how I'm supposed to love a man that lived over two thousand years ago more than my parents who have given me more than I would ever be able to give back. If loving my parents more than their God be a sin, than send me to hell.

God is Love it is part of who He is. He doen't just love He is Love. He loves us more than any human can including parental love. He feels the emotions we feel and knows us better than we know ourselves but just as a good parent will discipline their child God may also discipline the ones he loves.

He loved us enough to die on the cross for our sins.

Well a parent can loose faith in her child but God never looses faith in you and loves you no matter what but a parent can stop loving you or give up on trying to change your life if you make the wrong decisions

God loves us as his children like a parent loves thier children. Parents get so frustrated with their kids when they stray the wrong way or do things to harm themselves. God just wants us to live in peace and harmony just like parents.. GOD expects the best from us just like parents. That's how I feel about it. Its all about how you feel about it.

God's love is uncondiional. There is no one on the face of this planet, men, women, black, white, gay, straight, good, and bad who God wouldn't forgive and welcome.

Jesus gave an interesting parallel to parenthood and how he loves us; the Prodigal Son. The son asks his father to give him his inheritance. When he gets the cash he goes away and spends it on partying and prostitutes. When the son is broke he comes back to his father to work as a servant. The father celebrates by throwing a party in honor of his son and welcomes him home with open arms.

This is God's love.
