Doesn't anyone read the manual anymore?

You can't transfer DV with USB. You must have firewire.

I can only speak of myself, and that is yes and no. Sometimes I read what I can decipher of the manual, and skip the rest. I look for what I need to get the camera or whatever apparatus it is to work and do what I want. Then when I want more, or it doesn't work, I delve back in the manual. Sometimes the manuals are so skimpy I just glance at them and go on doing what I think will work best. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm only familiar with USB applications, but I imagine you're right.
