What is it with you people that have to make everything about god??????!!!!!!!???????? How can you honestly sit there and answer a question from someone upset about something like a relationship problem and say that it could be from disobeying god?? Are you serious?!?!?!?!?! I think that that could be karma, but god?? No. How can some people sit there and tell someone that if they do anything wrong, they'll be punished for it but then preach about how he/she's all-forgiving and such? It seems to me a lot of those religious zealots out there have a lot of growing up to do...and demons to work out in their minds...not to mention practicing what they preach and maybe stop being so judgemental of others (you know...the teachings of just about every single man made religion). Do you honestly think these people are right to act like this?????

Well seeing as there isn't any topic heading called 'bit**ing', I guess I have to put it here... Was that really a real comment??? Where else would I have put it, you idiot?!

P.S. I was looking at someone else's question to which someone answered them by saying that they could have been disobeying god. I got riled up because isn't that like kicking someone when they're down??

I'm happily single, thank you very much! :)

You may call me judgemental all you want...I'm just pointing out the absurdity of hypocracy and the fact that people actually use it to justify their hypocritical actions and beliefs.

I grew up Catholic and am very well aware of the whole idea of religion therefore, I can have an opinion about it because at least I'm not talking out of my A** about something I know nothing of...got me??

So if someone points at a group of you and your friends and says, "hey you guys...come over here!" does that mean that you take offence to the fact that you aren't a guy but a girl??

'You' people is referring to the people who are like this, not EVERYONE. I'm an English major and quite aware of the inappropriateness of using an infinite noun like this...

Now if I had said, "Hey everybody who answers questions in the Religion & Spirituality topic part of Yahoo! Questions!" I could see why some of you would get upset...

I know exactly what you're saying. Whether you are an atheist or not. These preaching idiots seldom realize they are breaking rule # 1 which is "JUDGE NOT" otherwise you will be the one who will be judged for judging in the name of God. Of course it's good to have religion, but to say that you are being punished for disobeying God without them even knowing you is ignorant. Don't stress about them. The world is full of confused people Good luck with your relationship problem, hope it works out well for you.

Sounds to me like you let someone get next to you and allowed them to control your actions. Please I do at times agree with you very much in regards to your comments. However I just let other say what they want because I am free to say what I want. To me, I may be wrong but that is the way I see it. Many by pure innate nature insist that all are just sinners and do deserve what happens to them. Their mind is that the only cause of everything is SIN. I guess its because of a lack of the knowledge of the use of other words - maybe?

There is a rough bunch here in the Yahoo Q&A who do answer for their own motives. I do not try to second guess them but sometimes I do check out their profile to try to see what kind of questions they ask and what kind of answers they do give. That for me usually tells me a lot about that person thanks to the records kept by Yahoo.

My friend I do understand your thoughts but I can tell you from my past experience you will not make any big changes to those who do answer here. Its a lost cause because they can hide in the secret places in front of their computer and use an ID that they can change any time they want.

It good you did post what you did so many could answer your question. I do see a lot who do agree with you but even a million do agree I doubt you will change even one OK

Why not just enjoy, read the bad answers in your opinion and shake your head alone in front of your computer and go on. You can also give the offended party a good answer and in that telll them about the bad advice given to them by so and so by listing the ID of the one you see as bad. Maybe that will help the question asker OK

For me just let it pass and quit letting other rattle your chain. Don't let another direct your path in life and make you mad or upset. They are not worth it.

This of course is my view only and I do not know if it will work for you. You must pick your own path that makes you feel good to yourself OK. Oh yes, I will accept your choice OK

You see I am a "NO' and "NO"s don't like to be a problem to others OK

Now just smile and do have a great day like I am OK

What are all of you doing in this category??
I wouldn't ask or answer a question about religion under a category of "cars" or "programing"
.
But to answer the legitimate question/comment asked in the proper category:
I agree that answers like 'pray about it' or something like that is not at all helpful to someone who has a legitimate question or problem to solve. I also agree that some Christians are too quick to answer that way. We should never say bad things happen to those who sin. That is not what He teaches. Anyone on this earth is most likely to suffer physically or emotionally. If anyone goes through life with no problems, he isn't paying attention.
If we were to follow His teaching, we would avoid most of the common problems that we all have had. That is true regardless of belief.
When someone is having problems, we should do our best to help. That is part of what He teaches.
I'll pray for those who judge rather than help. And I'll say a prayer for you who ask and answer in the wrong category.

I know I'm annoyed when people insist on using a religious paradigm to analyze a problem. Well it's not PC for me to say a religious paradigm is wrong (but I will here anyway), it would be more productive to try to give as many alternative solutions to someone's problem as possible in the hopes that one would actually stick. To repeat the "Jesus loves you, don't be such a sinner" line is to be irrelevant and annoying. This is not a place to preach, it's a place to help. So, christians out there, practice what you believe and do some good in the world instead of merely repeating bible-verses.

No one can honestly say that every problem is caused by disobedience to God; whether it involve a breakup problem, or whatever the case may be. Yet many such problems do come to pass out of disobedience. You can count most certainly on the fact that God is an all-forgiving God. But God did not tell you that just because He would forgive you for all your sins, that you would not sometimes have to suffer great consequences because of the sins that you commit. As far as being punished for the sins which you commit, Jesus was punished for every one of us; by having to give his life upon the cross. Because the Word of God tells us that the wages of sin is death. And Jesus was put to death in our place. We everyone have committed sins. But yet we are not dead because of those sins; even though some of us may be suffering great hardships because of the sins which we have committed. There may be people who are not teaching the true story from the Bible as it should be taught, but it sounds to me as though you may need to get into the Word of God yourself, and find out the truth. Even better, why not ask Jesus to come into your heart, and forgive you for your sins, and become one of his children. Because it is very evident from the words which you speak that you have never done so. Sounds to me like you just enjoy pointing fingers yourself.

Oh sweetie if you attack everything in life like this you are going to have a heart attack .
Everyone on here has their own mind . I don't aggree with a lot of the things that people say on here . I just ignore whatever I don't like . Don't
let anything get you that bent out of shape because then you are allowing them to control how you feel . Also when you get that upset you strike out at everyone { Whats up with you people ? }
That is not the way to make friends and influience people .
Take what you like and leave the rest .

The actions of certain Christian people does indeed go against what Jesus taught. However, if you want to know what true Christianity is then look to the life that Jesus lived.

The fact is, God does not punish people directly for disobeying Him. He expects it if you don't even know Him. People suffer hardship mostly from a direct link to sin in their lives. It's their own fault, not Gods. God IS willing to forgive anybody they just need to be sincere with their asking.

I have to say I do agree with you. You do reap what you sow, but then again, going back to the end of what you said about being judgemental...you are absolutely right!!! "Why point out the speck in someone elses eye when you have a plank growing out of your own" These are the words I live by!! I believe in encouragement not beating. I didn't see what question you are posting this is response to, but I hope it all works out for you. :)

Some people do love to throw the word GOD around and in your face when they begin to judge you (which i think is ironic since GOD is the only one that can judge us) Anybody has the right to act how they want. Don't worry about them. Just worry bout you. You can take their advice or just ignore it.

Well to the people that were born and raise that way this is the way their questions were answered for them. So that is the way they know how to answer questions. And why is it so bad to have people dip into their religion to help someone in chrisis? I think we could all use a little help in that area.
