I have a viper 791 xv on 98 accord. Right now, after changing the batteries and all on the remote, it cant get it to send signals to my car. I hit the unlock/lock button and it just beeps like it is out of range. does anyone know how to reprogram my remote to send signals to my car. I cou I am very electronically illeterate so I need MAJOR help. I would appreciatld not figure it out in the book. I did all it said, but it never worked.

Most likely, it is the transmitter. Thats what happened to my car after I jumped it.

You can try to reprogram the remote by finding the valet switch ( black push button). open your door turn on the ignition to the run postion press valet switch once then press and hold it. You will get a chirp from the siren if lyou are successfull. while still holding valet switch press the lock button on the remote. If your remote is good it should program to the alarm and you will hear a confirmation chirp from the alarm. turn off the ignition and try the remote. if it doesn't work most likely the remote is bad i have replaced many of them at the shop i used to work at.

there has been major problems with these remotes. if i were you, i would get into the car, pop the hood, disconect the alarm from the battery, and drive it to the place that installed it, and tell them to fix it. hopefully its just in vallet mode, otherwise a new remote is about $120.

there is a valet switch under the dash try and switching it or the line for the alarm antenna may have come lose some where. try standing right in front of your car and try.
