when i was little i always wanted a dog, a golden retreiver to be exact. My mom always said "over my dead body" she also said it was either her or the dog. guess which i would of picked (dog) just kidding. . my dad didn't mind and sisters loves animals so. my mom told me when i get my own place i can have a thousand pets if i want. now im all grown up and have my own place an i want to get that golden retreiver puppy and now my mom is acting up saying "no, no no, if u get that thing im not going to talk to you and i'll be mad". that is unfair. i don't see my mom everyday now and besides she told me i can have one and i am getting one. what should i tell my mom, should i lie and say im not or should i tell her i dont care what she says or what? this is b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t she said she wouldnt mind and now its like" no i won't talk to you "blablabla.

As long as you are a responsible pet owner (cleaning up the poop, spade and neuter, shots, love)
you can tell your mom you are going to take care of your responsibilities...as well tell her that people who own pets are happier and live longer...second, it's a precursor to understand some of the responsibility involved in parenting....and third....you could be on drugs, living on the streets and a prostitute.....but your not so she should be grateful....not so childish as to not speak to you over you owning a pet....

well it s your life and choose if you want a own puppy and youre already got your own place so why you gotta listening to your own mother about you re getting a dog ? she cant tell or control your life anymore. youre a big boy not little kid anymore. she better stop telling you that . so what she said that she isnt going go see you . if she doesnt like the way you told her then dont speak to her til she will realize that you choose to have a dog and you will keep it at your own place instead . she doesnt needed worrying about the dog gotta come over to the house anyways . well if you already got the dog then dont be scared to tell her that you had the dog first place. she cant do much about it . .. if she keep tellin you about not having the dog . just not tak to her for a while so til she know that she will change her mind and let you do whatever you want own way. i never had that problems with my mom . cus she love small dogs . plus i have own dogs two of them i have a small tiny cup yorkshire terrier mix schanchuz terrier . and a small pitbull mix yorkshire.

I think you should get the dog, golden retriever's are great but I raise Pitt bulls and they are the best dogs ever. Your mom will get over it. Why is she so against it?? As long as she doesn't take care of it, but a puppy will take a lot of your time too. Make sure your schedule is not too crazy and you can spend lots of time with the dog to. Good luck

So your Mom will be mad, I am sure it is not the first time you have made her angry! She is not being rational (as Mom's can sometimes get... speaking as a Mom) why would she care if you got a dog when you live on your own?
Get the dog and make yourself happy... I am sure that your Mom will come around!

how old are you? i would say that your mom is going to love you no matter what. i would just tell her that you want a dog and you are out on your own so that is what you are going to do. its not like you are asking her to watch it all the time or anything. i always wanted a dog, a chinese crested which everyone thinks is ugly but i think they are cute. i havn't gotten one yet because of my work schedule it would be unfair to any animal. but i think if you can take care of it then go for it!

You are in your own place now what does it matter what she says you make the rules there you pay the bills so if you want the dog go for it.
I would like to get a boxer pup one day and i will too.

I would like to have a cocker spaniel puppy, my gran son would like to have kittens, and the other one wants a snake and a dog. The only problem we have is that we live with my mother who sounds like she may be related to your mom. NO PETS IN MY HOUSE! GET YOUR OWN PLACE AND DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT.

Get a pitbull. I adopted by pitbull LuLu 3 years ago and she is the coolest, sweetest dog in the world. You have your own apartment now and as long as you are responsible for your dog, you mother should not care.

i already have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 4 horses and a foal, a pet lamb, birds and fish!! ahhhhahahaha i live on a farm so its all good. im not someone who keeps these animals in an appartment!
