EDT is Eastern Daylight savings Time - the clock is moved one hour ahead of the actual time for seven months of the year. The other five months you will see it as EST (Eastern Standard Time). Right now, Taiwan is 12 hours ahead of New York, so 6 am Wednesday morning Taiwan time is 6 pm Tuesday evening New York time.
