No contest. The pet wins, hands down. Just as an example, when I moved in with my husband (he was my fiance at the time), he had no animals in the house. I already had a great dane. He loved dogs anyways so had no problem welcoming her into our home. BUT he didn't really like cats. We now have two dogs, and FOUR cats sharing our home with us. He knew that as an animal lover, I would get cats eventually and in the 7 years total that we've been together, we got 4 cats, and he loves them all.

Not a choice at all.
If the person actually loves you they would never ask you to make a choice.
If they ask you to make a choice they are only thinking of themselves and as far as I am concerned they made the choice for me and that person has to go.
You see it isn't a matter of chosing between a dog or a lover but rather deciding what is best for you.

my dog. if my dog and the lover didnt get along i'd have to wonder why. sometimes the lover could be nasty to the dog when your not there?how would you know? GET A NANY CAM!

The dog is more loyal and obedient. Does not give me a headache, always agrees with me and loves me no matter what. So I would choose my dog.

HUM, gotta think about that one. Is it just an arbitrary decision or has one of them been misbehaving?
If it is just a random decision, I'd have to oust the guy. I made a commitment to the "defenseless" animal and it's my responsibility. The guy can fend for himself.

My dog I would not have a lover who did not adore her. She is my responsibility and I love her, Sje is here first and she is my family.
