I understand why its confusing..boy/girl friendships have a very fine line especially when there are other girlfriends/boyfriends involved.
I would definitely be there for your friend. Your girlfriend will understand especially if she trusts you.

You respect your gf and dont sleep in another womans place, even if she is a close friend. Your gf may say it would have been ok, but if you did it and THEN told her about it, I doubt she would be as receptive.
