So when you think of irish people do you think of little short people in green hats or do you think of them as being part of one of the strongest economies in the world? (We were once the leading computer software exporter in the world, now we're second).
I'm just curious, because most Americans have this (literal) perception, which results in a lot of Irish people thinking that they're idiots.

i think of irish people as ordinary people, not any different to the way i see everyone else. stereotypicalising would be classing them as little short people in green hats, like leprachauns, and i have never seen them in that way. i've got an irish friend of mine who's 1.72 m tall. this would be 5'7. i treat him like i would treat anyone else, and neither wealth nor stereotypicalising is the way i see them

I'm American, but my grandfather immigrated from Ireland when he was a child. I see the Irish as being a mystery of a people and land far off I wish to come into knowledge with. But as for guys I like Irish guys, they have personalities, and that's what makes a guy. Hope this helps. Are you in Ireland?

To think that your like lil leperchaun ppl is pretty stupid. I have an open mind about everyone. I have a friend that is half irsh half norweigan and she is pretty cool. I don't know much about the Irish community, but I have always wanted to travel there. Though again with what you say about the stereo typing, I would not like to feel the hatred from anyone over there because I'm african american. I have come across a site that spoke of some foriegn places not being as open to black ppl. Ireland wasn't on there but I hope it isn't like that. Because I really would like to visit.

I don't think of the Irish as little leprechans...you're just people, and the landscape looks nice. But people are dumb, and they may be thinking that because of the Lucky Charms cereal.
