Jesus proved that he filled the Prophecy (of the old testament) don’t you need the Old Testament to prove what the prophecy was? With out the OLD Testament Jesus was nothing.

I Love Christ, People,
1 GOD->JESUS,->GOD.
2 If we "do away with" or ignore the Old Testament Jesus has no prophecy to fill. Get it? Jesus refers to the old testament many times in his teachings. OT is not Just History!!!!

Of course without the Old Testament, we would of never known the prophesy which Jesus came to the earth to fulfill. The prophets of the Old Testament made it very clear to us what the purpose was for Jesus coming to the earth. Jesus could of came to the earth whether or not there had been any Old Testament. But if the Old Testament had not of been fulfilled just as the Word of God tells us that it was; or in other words, if the things of the Old Testament had not of been true happenings which took place exactly as the Word of God tells us that they took place, then there would of never been any need for Jesus coming to the earth. For He came to the earth to save mankind from the sin which Adam and Eve got the whole human race into. But without the Old Testament to tell us of such, we would of never known the purpose of his coming. Your question is not the easiest to answer. But I would never dare to say that Jesus was nothing, with or without the Old Testament. For He was truly God Almighty Who resided in a human body, for a period of time.

I think you've misunderstood what "New Testament Christian" is. There is no way for anyone to believe the NT but not the Old, when the New constantly references it. I think it is a term used for those who they believe in Jesus and follow the rules and laws He set in place. Jesus also said that He did not come to do away with the Laws given to Moses (10 Commandments).

Well I dunno about your "without the old testament jesus was nothing" statement, but okay. Jesus was constantly quoting and referring to passages in the old testament.
I would guess a New Testament Christian is of the belief that things changed, the rules changed, when Jesus came. Jesus gave us what he called the "new covenant".
I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. Who's saying the Old Testament doesn't exist? Wha?

The old law was done away with when Christ gave us the new covenant in his blood, along with his new covenant church.
The old testament of the Bible is an integral part of God's word and revelation. As such, it can never become obsolete.
Jesus is God ... with or without the Bible ... and with or without us. I'm sure you didn't really mean what you wrote about him.

with out the old testament Jesus is nothing,, I will pray for you. the old was a history book. It has nothing to do with salvation to the Christians. It was written for the JEWS, NOT (US) CHRISTIANS. We live by the new not the old. Jesus is everything to me.

Well not exactly...you can still repent of sin and receive Christ as Savior even without any knowledge of OT.
Many Russians did that when I was in Moscow in 1991 just before the fall of Communism ...they had no bibles and they would even ask me...who is Moses?

Naturally. I can't imagine why any Christian would want to throw out the OT. That just doesn't make sense!

We read the OT, but we don't have to abide by all the laws in the OT, Jesus fulfilled that prophesy, and He gave us new instruction in the NT.
