I put med ash blonde over my golden blonde highlights to tone it down. It did ok, but I thought with the ash color as the box says it should also pull out the red tones, but I still have a tad bit red cast to it, not alot. Any suggestions on maybe getting rid of the red tones or cast to it.? Without darkening it.. I don't wear my hair dark or red..

Please don't advise me to go to a hairdresser. They charge to much. I have done my own hair for yrs. once in a while I'll have a boo-boo ..

Try a beige (.31 or .7 on the box) to eliminate red tones. You could try a 7.31 (or 7.7) or a 8.31 to help matify your red tones.

Unless its yellow (gold) dont make it all ash. That will look flat and dull. A little warmth keeps it looking bright and shiney. The only way to get completely rid of the warm tones is to bleach them out and then put back the color you want. But don't do plain ash, do a natural blonde it will be more sexy!! But if its really bad go to a salon or you could have a mess or as you say a Boo Boo! Trust me I'm a hairstylist. Good luck and remember most of the time you get what you pay for!

Ok happened to me once, heres what I did... just wash it a couple of times and the redness (brassines should fade away or apply another coat of the same ash blonde color you first used)

Trust me it works

Hope I helped =)

that means it is "Brassy" there are conditioners out there that claim to help with brassyness but you may be best to go see a hair dresser and get them to tone it down. There is something that i used to use - not sure if you have it in a chemist or something near you. It is called "Magic Silver White" it is a purple liquid and it does tone down the brassiness

Wash with shimmer lights shampoo. It is blue and will tone down the red some more. I wouldn't put any more chemicals on it.
