Truth is the most important thing in life. Without the ackowledgement of truth there can never be any true wisdom. When one recognizes truth then you can find answers. If one wallows in darkness and grey areas and has no definitive rights or wrongs but only questions then you have nothing solid to count on it life. You cannot make definitive decisions and know that you have done the right thing, you always second guess yourself. Imagine going through life never knowing whether you are doing the right thing. That's why God is loving and caring and gives us specific directions. Directions that if we follow will bring us peace, happiness and joy.

That's a debatable subject, so have fun in Art class talking about it!

Truth can be as simple as the accurate representation of reality through the symbols of language. Or, truth can be found in how well ideas fit together. Or, truth is constructed based on the power structures of the community. Or, truth is consciously decided upon by the concensus of whoever matters. Or, truth is simply what works best, even if it's inherently inaccurate.

I'm tempted to believe that truth is the first of all these basic ideas, that there is a reality beyond myself and that I can reflect that reality through the use of language and other symbols. In this way, art consists of symbols that represents reality, and when it does this right, art is true.

There is not a correct definition of the "truth".
The truth is a relative term. My truth can't be very different than other people truth. For an example, imagine you are in a war in the Middle Ages, you are sure that you are the good guy but your enemy think the same about himself. Who's the bad or the good one.Think about religious believes, some people are completely sure that God exist and other believe that God is a imaginary thing. Who's right?

I Love it.
Pontius Pilate asked Jesus the same question.
Truth is the end result of something being true. Truth will transcend all points of valadation. For example I am typing on a computer. I do not think I would need to debate my point with anyone outside of an Atheist who would say they didn't believe in computers. That would be my definition of truth with a cheap shot at my non beleaving brothers and sisters thrown in for giggles.

GOD bless ya.

Truth is acting without hesitation, being a friend without strings attached. Being honest in tough situations. Following your heart and not your head! Truth is being able to sleep at night knowing your life has been well and honestly lived!

Truth is universal. If it's true in GA; it's true in S. Africa.
Truth is factual.
Truth is loving.
Truth does not change based on society or feelings. While feelings are REAL; they are not TRUTH.

Truth is different for everyone. Two people can see the same thing and have two different views of what it was. Everyone has their own truth, and everyone thinks that theirs is the only right one!
