retired - no, noone ever told me that. That is interesting.

Was it recently? Because I hear that earlier versions of the pamphlet weren't so much of a 'how to manual' as a warning of risks. I'd be interested to know if they still played that video.

Smack - it's easy to call names. Can you debate the issues like schools and healthcare? Or are insults all you've got?

bunt, my parents earned it for me as I earn things to give to my children. What do you have going for you as a claim?

As to those who say it doesn't say 'how to' it does tell to bring water, how to act to the border patrol, to watch out not to have domestic violence and if arrested to not mention their immigration status, etc.

It is not just a 'this is risky, don't do it.'

This pamphlet was not issued by the Mexican government. It was issued by the Yucatan state government with the intention of helping Mexicans leaving their state for the U.S., whether legally or illegally. Nowhere in this pamphlet does the issuing body encourage anyone to migrate to the U.S. What it does though is inform readers of the risks of entering illegally and recommends that the legal route should be the priority. It tells Mexicans many of their rights here as human beings, how not to get into trouble, how to find help and where if they should need it, what kind of documents they should carry, and a number of other things in that vein. It gives the addresses and phone numbers of the Mexican consulates in this country so that Mexicans can contact them as needed.

What I'd like to know is why you wanted to post it here. Do you read, write, and speak Spanish? Do you understand the content of this pamphlet?

I speak, read, and write Spanish very well, almost at native fluency. I have been to Mexico many times, am planning to return there in December for a prolonged stay, have very good friends here who are Mexican, and am presently distributing in Arkansas the only official federal pamphlet made for Mexicans entering the U.S. legally or illegally. There is nothing in it either that incites Mexicans to abandon their country for this one, but there is a lot of info aimed at helping them adjust to this country, the as does the one you've posted the link to.

Here are two links to sites which are presently offering guide booklets (Guías). The first is from the federal government and the second is from the state of Yucatán.

That is not a HOW TO guide or TIPS on how to cross the border. Its a what can happen to you guide if you try. An explanation of the dangers involved and why they should not attempt the crossing.

Of course it will get spun around as a guide on how to make it accross the best way. Who would expect any less from some of these narrow minded people here.

I only got the front cover. Big deal.

I can tell you that on the buses coming from the interior, (i.e. - Mexico City to Reynosa, etc.) they play a video on every first class bus, which usually has video and monitors. That video is an official government video, and it shows illegals dying horrible deaths in the desert, and urges them not to risk their lives.

Until recently, we always took the bus, so I have seen that video many times.

Did anyone tell you that?

There is nothing unusual about this pamphlet. Mexican govmt wants to protect the human rights of their citizens and that's applausable. Nowhere does it say "go illegally to the US"!
Mexicans can't come legally, most of them ar denied visas and they cannot apply at DV lottery.
It's very low to hate the weak of the day. Really shallow of you. How did you deserve your citizenship? By being popped out here!

Absolutely incredible that a government would give tips on how to illegally enter another country....sure wish it were in English.

I still think we should deport all illegals and subtract that from the foreign aid we send to mexico. When you touch the money destined to line the pockets of the corrupt....then, maybe the numbers of illegals will drop.

Do you think for a minute the mexican government cares one bit about these people? They are simply being used...to be a modern day Trojan Horse.............

And yet, we can't shoot them in the process of them illegally entering this country.
I want to move to the border, and get some trigger time in. Big time !....I have not seen any action since the gulf war. 1991... Can we say Bushmaster AR15, carbine, flat top..tricked out to the max.
