Most of the books of the Bible have the name of the author at the top (like Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, etc). Very few of the New Testrament authors are unknown.

A better question is -- who collected these various works and decided which scriptures were the holy word of God and which were not? The answer to that question is Catholics. While most of the Scriptures were declared to be Hoy by St Irenaeus in the 2nd century, the list wasn't finalized until the 4th century Council of Rome -- a council convened by the Pope. The Catholic Bible has remained unchanged since then -- though Protestants decided to delete several books in the 1500s.

It is now believed that all of the books of the Bible were written in the first century. While tradition holds that the works of John were the last to be written (since Revelations ends the book), it is believed by Biblical Scholars that Peter 2 is the last one to have been written.

thats a very good point. but many people wrote it. there are many authors and they were all crazy. i know that sounds bad, but it was probably true. ok one thing im going to state...

In the beginning God made the Heavens and the Earth within seven days. Adam and Eve were created within these days if i am right. Science has fossils showing dinosaurs and insects lived thousands and millions of years before humans... hmmm... and another thing...

If you believe in the Bible then Adam and Eve didn't populate the Earth as it is today. In about the year 2400 BC there was the flood with Noah that supposedly destroyed all life. So all human life evolves from the people that were on that boat, 8 i think. All the different races and people of the world couldnt evolve from 8 people on a boat 4000 years ago... One thing to point out is that all these races have history that points out life before this 4000 years ago and how would they still exist?? There is one thing about the Bible that is wrong.

Normally, I would ridicule you for being uneducated. However, since you actually seem to care about it, you should receive the correct answer.

Any decent Bible will give you details at the beginning of each chapter regarding who wrote it. Many people wrote the Bible, and many chapters are even named after them, particularly the Gospels.

With regards to your concern about a last name, last names were not commonly used in society until around 1000 B.C., by the Vikings. The authors of the Bible did not use last names as we know them. Usually, they were differentiated by where they were from...i.e., Jesus of Nazareth. Most of the authors of the New Testament were followers of Christ, although the term "Christian" is only used a few times late in the New Testament, and in some versions not at all...it is primarily a modern term.

Good Luck with your research

I'm not sure i completely understand your questions, but I'll do my best....

First of all, back then people didn't use last names. If you go through the bible they called people "Jesus of Nazareth", "John the Baptist", "Jesus, son of Joseph," etc. Not one person wrote the bible, and we actually know who wrote most of the books of the bible, and have a good idea of who wrote the rest (the book of Revelations doesn't have a for sure Author, we know it was a man named John, but we're not sure if it was the John who wrote the book of John or a different John). And If you pick up most bibles (or a good study bible at least), there will be an intro to each book of the bible that will tell you who wrote it. Not one person wrote the bible.

So to answer your question, we have lots of clues of who wrote the bible, we also have lots of proof for the information in the bible. For example, there was a guy named Lee Strobel (stroble?) who set out to disprove Christianity and became a famous Christian writer (read the case for christ, the case for faith, etc.) same with C.S. Lewis, and a man named Sir Ramsey set out to disprove ...I believe it was the book of Luke....and he tested everything about the book he could, the titles they used for all the Roman officials (Roman officials' titles changed CONSTANTLY back then), all dates and events.....in the end, everything he tested the book of Luke on was accurate so he decided that if the things we could test in the book of Luke were true, we could then trust the things we couldn't test. And thus came to trust in and believe the rest of the gospels and the bible....

Anyway, hope all that helps!

The Bible grew to become into written by making use of a form of folk, a number of whom lived with Jesus and different prophets, and a few who did no longer. some aspects of the Bible have been written a hundred years after Jesus died. The Bible has additionally been rewritten over 3 hundred circumstances, and altered by making use of non secular government in the process the middle an prolonged time. that is no longer God's be conscious, a minimum of no longer a hundred%.

Bible's not a legal document.
We DO know who wrote it.
Alot of the New Testament was written sooner than 80 years after the death of Jesus Christ.
NOT made up.

Good luck my friend. Have a good evening.

The writing of the Bible took over 1600 years by 40 different people. It says and describes the same from start to finish, Jesus Christ. All 40 of the men were God inspired by the Holy Spirit to write. So I would say the last name is Spirit.

Not just one person wrote the books of the Bible. Many did.

And people didn't have last names. Just where they were from. Like the name Jesus of Nazareth, for example. Or Saul of Tarsus. No last name--just a region/city.

The last person who penned the last book of the Bible, and 4 out of the 5 last books is John Zebedee, the last living disciple of Jesus, the only disciple I believe who wasn't martyred.
