High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane
These lanes are for buses, carpools, van pools, emergency vehicles, RVs (with the specified number of occupants) that have the occupancy noted on the sign. Most require a minimum of 2 people.

High Occupancy Vehicle. In most states, you are required to have 2 or more people in your car to ride in these lanes. Motorcycles are allowed also.
