People need human interaction. So yes, people need people to be happy. But I don’t think that’s what you are asking. I believe you are speaking of a special someone. Then I think the answer is no.
I think Mother Theresa was happy and Dali Lama is happy. Although they don't have someone, yet they are happy because their life have greater purpose.

God is not IN your life, he is in your thoughts. He cannot give a hug, kind words, words you NEED to hear, a kiss, holding, whatever it is you need.
BUT nobody in this whole entire world can make you happy, but you. You have to figure it out what makes you happy. If it isn't happening for you now than you need to decide what you need to change. And it's the truth. If you're not happy, then you're probably addicted to some other kind of emotion....
