Maybe not to get that sick but you can train so hard that you can become sick I do every summer because I ride my bike 14 miles in the california heat and work out for 2 hours 6 days a week. Just for my martial arts.

Most definately. Training breaks down your body to build it back up, and if you never rest it and allow it to recover, then the energy that your body needs to heal itself is never recharged. For example, muscles actually tear when you stretch and then heal in the new elongated form. The body's immune system removes the damaged material, but it can only do so much. If you over tax your system it can't keep up.

as I get older, this happens more and more. You push you body to a point of fatigue and you lower your immune system until you get to bed and recharge.
If I push myself really really hard, I get the chills at night like I'm coming down with a fever.

Of course! You need ENERGY to fuel your immune system. If you are spent then you don't have much energy left to fight off infections. Common sense dude, thats why when your sick you are supposed to get rest and fluids.

Absolutely! Overtraing will weaken the body and make it more susceptible to infection.

I can see that happening since your body is too busy recovering from all the aches and pains, it doesn't divert the...I don't know, white blood cells, I guess, to block off things like colds and flus.
