First off let me start out, My family heritage is Druid-Pagan- and Celtic..... But as a child raised in a Christian Family, Going to Church and camps etc, Teaching at churches, I loved it.. at the time. as i got older, things became more Clear, I got curious.. and started doing my research on ALL religions that i could possibly think of. Since, I havnt put a book down, and im always reading and learning..

From what ive learned about Crisitian Faith and Other "God Worshiping/praising" religons- It made Absolutly no sense, To me,... sounded like Brainwashing, and Lies!!

I found out so much, like Christ didnt come first, He didnt create MAN and WOMAN, and all things below the heavens, There were several tribes, cultures, and religions before his exsistance, as a human being. He came Centuries LATER, Lies.. all Lies. I could go on and on and on. I really recommend you doing some reading on Pagan-Wiccan-Druid- and Celtic, Egyption Religions... You'll be amazed by what you Find!!!

As for where i stand, I've never been more complete and happy, than now. Being Wiccan, Using and living my Past beliefs and History. I feel Whole, And Know the truth behind my Religion, and can freely, proudly and honestly speak and teach to others about it.

Brightest Blessings )0(

I always had questioned faith, as far back as I can remember, but the final nail in the coffin was when I was a teenager. I picked up a book on urban legends. I began to read it and laughed at how gullible some people were for ever believing that any of these stories were true. I felt ever so smug as I read each one until I came to a story that, until that very moment, I always took for granted as being true. The story being that you must wait at least an hour before swimming after eating or you'll get cramps. I always just believed that to be a fact even though I had no real reason to, other than I was told to believe it by my mother. But here it was in this book telling me that it's just a myth. So from then on I decided not to just believe in things just because I'm told to. Now, that I'm 29 I have become a complete atheist.

I was raised in an Assembly of God Church. I was always in trouble because I asked questions. Like: Who did Cain and Abel marry? How could a snake give Eve an apple? Were there dinosaurs on the Ark? Why did Noah allow mosquitoes on the Ark? If one of the crows disappeared on the Ark how do we still have crows? (I was young and the ark story fastinated me for a while....until I found out that the flood story was 5,000 years older than 'Noah and the Ark')

Then I learned to read. I first read the Children's Bible when I was 7 or 8...cover to cover. Then I really had questions!!! I read Good News when I was about 10...maybe 11. Oh Boy! Where is Rapture in the Bible.??...my copy doesn't have it????? Why is most of the New Testiment written by Paul? If Jesus told us to go forth and teach with just the clothes on our back then why does our minister need a new house?

I read the King James Version the same year my Youth Leader molested me and killed a 6 year old neighbor. That is when I was done with Christianity.

My father suffered a very violent death - I cursed God for years and couldn't even go near a church - early one morning I found myself in a pew located in a very discreet corner. Even then I couldn't force myself to hear what was being said and usually slipped out before the service was over. I did this for years - it took some time but eventually I made peace with God. There's a lot a evil in this world - you need someone greater than yourself to deal with it.

I actually read the bible and then looked up how it was put together...filled with literally thousands of contradictions...for example the the 4 different gospels accounts of he ressurection...all completely contradictory..someone was not telling the truth...then After much research on the early popes...(mostly murderers theives and sinister ignoramus scoundrels)....and the realization that they were murdering and torturing so called innocent heretics, mostly women, by the possibly hundreds of thousands...I then...THEN....STARTED USING MY BRAINS...and now...i am FREE ...I no longer do a thing because i want heaven or fear hell, but because it is the right and just thing to do..

Absolutely nothing happened .
No prayers were ever answered .I never saw or felt the presence of a god .I never saw God intervene when a horrible event happened.I only saw the good people come together and help one another in crisis. They never identified their religious beliefs ,they just helped .I saw many Atheists and former religious fanatics band together for total strangers .
NEVER did God appear . Believers would say that this was proof of his existence .I was not Called by God or anyone to help.
I helped because of compassion for my fellow man and it was the RIGHT thing to do .Believe me when I say my parents and family tried to get me to believe but I showed them proof of my disbelief . My proof was the inhumane way believers treated each other and those who were of different faiths .
ENOUGH SAID.

I was cured from the mind virus that is known as religion. I woke up to a universe that is infinite and beautiful. A much more humbling feeling about our place in it. Humility. Complete and total humility. Not to God but for the sheer fact that we are lucky to be here. That makes life so much more prescious that the thought of an afterlife give me no comfort what so ever. The thought of this one life, is all that we live, makes it so much more beautiful and wonderful.

I lost faith in the fake ideas of god , then I learned where the most important place for faith to be , in my self.

I learned how to think properly. Once that happens, the willful ignorance and self-delusion that comprise religious belief just evaporate... poof.

I never 'lost' faith, I just 'found' something worth believing in!
