what do you mean by safe? as in healthy? if so you need not to buy any thing with sugar with the first few ingredients or anything hydrated like corn syrup or a fixed flour. those kind of foods are really bad for you. so just look at ingredients and exp. dates.

It actually depend on the categories of store and the conditions of food. If the food conditions is poor then it can not be safety. But when a sailor wanna buy his food it might be good and safe. Otherwise if u doubt any thing then the doubt comes one after one. So buy it of Ur own confident.

I guess, I would have to say, not at all. I take extreme care in what I purchase for my family. I think it is important to stay informed on what is a safe product and what is questionable. I will not purchase a canned food item that doesn't have an expiration date or has a dent. You can not be to careful. Food poisoning is much to common and most often confused with the flu.

I am pretty confident in the food that I buy at the grocery store. Although I am a Vegan, if you want to make sure that you do not get sick, remember to cook your meat properly to kill any bacteria left from packaging. Oh, and if you are going to be using the same knife for vegetables that you used on the meat, be sure to rinse it well. Bacteria can transfer from the knife to your veggies which can possibly lead to illness. Also, remember to properly rinse off your vegetables and fruits. The US sprays pesticides on food crops and animal waste could have washed up on the fields.
Only the foolish allow themselves to get sick from bad food preparation.

Confident enough that I know i can sue Dominion for being fresh obsessed and just about any other grocery store if i very well wanted to. It's always a must to select the freshest produce anyway

Never 100% but I look at the expiration date, the quality of the packaging and even the appearance of the contents. I generally stick to the same brands.
I always smell everything I cook and if I even suspect it has a strange or "off" smell, I toss the offending food...even if it means having soup and toast...

90-95% no store can be 100% safe their are too many different company's that supply them. but as soon as something has a recall on it its pulled off asap
but still i check dates on anything i buy (better safe them sorry)
stock normally get rotated well. but sometimes a new hire (who wasn't trained right, may not rotate)
(i know I've worked at a grocery store for 13+ years (I've done stocking, meat, dairy, deli, produce, and bagged

not confident, but i do not have the skill, energy, resources, or desire to hunt or gather my own food. so the store is the best option.

Not. But what choice do I have? So I wash "fresh" things, and cook the living daylights outta meat.
