question on publishing?

so, yeah. lets say some one has writen a book. how would anyone go on getting it published? K-thanx.

Go to the library. There are books listing publishers and what kind of books they publish. They also give general advice on how to get published.

Start with "Writer's Digest". See below

Don't even bother submitting any manuscript unsolicited...I have attempted it several times!
I would recommend sending the novel first to literary agents, and then, when one accepts it, planning and strategizing with them...this would include finding the appropriate publisher.
