I haven't been there since I was a child. My hubby and I were thinking of taking a ride up there since I have some time off work. Does anyone know when they plan to reopen? There web site says they plan to make it bigger and better! (I know it is not located in New York City, but that is the only place in New York that came up on the choices.) Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes, it is sad that a fine family institution like the Catskill Game Farm is closing.

I can still remember going there with my parents almost 50 years ago. I also took my wife there when we were dating, we took our kids and my son just took his daughter. We were all saddened by the news.

There is Adirondack Animal Land in Fulton County, NY. Not as big as Catskill Game farm, but clean and VERY family.

Sadly they're closing for good...
I think they're auctioning the animals off Oct 19th. Perhaps you could buy a llama?

There is some concern that 'canned hunting' parks may bid on some of the animals....thats sad.

I worked there for a while, and I rather liked it as a child.

They are closing for good. The owner wants to retire. At least the animals will be going to other game farms and zoos.

It was the last of its kind where you can go right up to the animals. I recall feeding a gariffe. It never advertised much andtimes change, Hovent been there in about 17 years.
