I think your teacher is trying to point out how food chains work, that it all starts w/ plants, no way around it. Even carnivorous plants are green and use photosynthesis to some degree.
Sun --> energy to green plant --> eaten by animals --> that's eaten by other animals --> finally gets to people
The closest thing that MAYBE it, but I doubt it, is Eskimos who eat whale blubber. Whales eat krill, which eat plankton (animal or plant plankton). If the krill never ate a plant plankton (kinda unlikely)and only ate animal plankton, I think animal plankton get their energy from sugar in the water. Then nothing green came thru that food chain. But then again, *I've* never eaten whale blubber.

Mushrooms. Meat. Insects. That covers everything not plant-based, I believe, so nobody can argue the being green point. If they say animals and insects eat green stuff, then use the answer 'mushrooms'. Mushrooms can live in a world devoid of green, and they most definitely have calories.

Heh, I think I get the question. To the person who said milk and meat. Both come from an animal who eats grass which is green.

Seafood.
Mushrooms.
Rattlesnake.
Yes this is 3 things that I have eaten in my life that do not come from something green.
I did not include dairy products because they start from milk which is made by a cow eating grass. There for it started out green.

Cheez Whiz... Definitely Cheez Whiz.
Also those orange peanut butter and cracker thingies that you get out of vending machines.
Also Pop Tarts.
Fruity Pebbles (except for the lime ones -- ha ha); Cocoa Pebbles (no exceptions).
Twinkies, Goo Goo Clusters, and most (non-spinach) pasta...
Ah, the possibilities are nigh endless.
