I have been having knots come up on my head for months and finally went to a dermatoligist. He also saw that my scalp was red and inflammed. I thought it was just the knots itching! It was a skin irratation that I have to use a liquid med on once a day. He said it was similar to shingles. The knots are nothing to worry about but they come up and bug me. I pick on them also!! I got an antibiotic and they cleared up but now are back! Don't worry! The drs have seen worse and will get you healed quick. If you wait you could get a really bad infection and it could smell and/or cause other problems! Be safe and smart and take care of it now! Best wishes and stop picking!!!

If it is eczema, then it definitely may be fungus related - at least according to my readings about the candida fungus (yeast). There is some basic info at www.hufa.org on yeast. While you are there, check out the info on low blood sugar, because yeast thrives on bodies that are imbalanced in some way - like a blood sugar imbalance.

Low blood sugar may account for why you mess with it. I know it did for me. I still have a spot that I "worry", even though I know it is not good for me.

Most likely either a fungus or bacterial recurrence .... Recommend a fungicide or antibacterial cream and keep your scalp clean and dry as these buggers need a moist environment to thrive
