At your ages your body will naturally lose it's baby fat! Don't worry about dieting. Eat veggies, fruits, lean meats, and dairy foods, and exercise when possible.I guarnatee you will be a different shape by the end of the this year! I have raised kids and taught 5th and 6th grades and have seen this happen for so many years! It is happening now to you. You will also start puberty if you haven't already. That will also make your body change. So be patient and NEVER do crazy diets that will hurt your health and future! Have a great year!!

You're weight will always depend on you're height and muscle, but i would say the average weight for someone between 10 and 13 would be 80-110 pounds. And you most DEFINITELY should NOT be on a diet! If you are body conscious then you are probably in the right range for weight, if not underwieght. I'm 16. Girls your age should not be dieting or even thinking about dieting. Especially since you're probably only in the 5th or 6th grade. But you should just eat healthy (little junk food and more carrots, celery, and protein) and exercise moderately. Like go for a 15 min walk or run.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. Eat healthy! Stay off the chips, cookies, sodas, fried foods, gravies, sauces etc. Eat lots of fruit, veggies, salads, lean meats, fist, skinless chicken. Ask your parents to help you. And watch your portion sizes! If you have the option, use a smaller plate at mealtimes -- and don't go back for more. Drink plenty of water, juices and lowfat or skim milk. If it's an option, instead of getting mom to drive you to the mall, walk or ride a bike. Get out and do things. And if you just have to have that ice cream or french fries - go for it -- as long as you are on the diet more than you are off of it. Don't look at it as a diet, look at it as a lifestyle change!

Your average weight depends on more than your age -- your height and body type help to determine what you should weigh. Have your mom schedule an appointment with your doctor -- he or she will be more than happy to help you head in the right direction!

Good luck!
