I was the same way. You just need to build up your metabolism if it's slow. Mine was a lot slower than average...but it didn't stop me and it shouldn't stop you.

I was in great shape when I was 17-19....Then I went downhill and went on a roller coaster ride with my weight... due to stress and other things.

I am now 22 and getting back in shape. I can't believe that I am even out of shape since I'm so young.

ANYways....a year ago I couldn't even run a mile anymore.....but I built up to now running 4 easily.

You might want to run at a gym indoors first to cut out all the allergies and rough ground.

I started off walking....then seeing how much could run and how fast. I'd run/walk a mile in about 12 minutes and I was dieing. Then I'd push myself a little. Just try to run the whole mile without stopping.

After that I'd run a mile then run/walk the second mile.. until I built it up.

After I got comfortable on the tread mill I raised the incline to 1.5... got used to that and now I can run outside just fine.

***Important: Remember to stretch and drink lots of water! If you don't stretch you might pull a muscle! Stretch before and after you run/walk/jog. Since you are sweating more try to add at least 2 cups more of water a day.

Well, to start out, don't be down on yourself... we all go through times when we neglect our health, more or less. It happens to the best of us, to different degrees. I'm sure that in a few weeks, with a little determination, you'll be back in the groove again.

First, check your eating habits. Of course the type of diet and supplementation you put in your body has a great deal to do with your energy levels. Feel free to check out my website if you'd like some ideas or suggestions of ways to supplement your current diet. Next, start slow. Take it a day at a time. If you love to run, then go outside or get on a treadmill and go for it! Just start out at a pace you can handle for maybe 25-30% of the distance you'd like to work yourself up to. For example, if you want to eventually run 10 miles each day, then start out running 2.5 to 3 miles each day. It all depend upon where you're currently at with your endurance and stamina. You know what your body can handle. Each day, just push yourself a little more. Get some good, upbeat music to keep you pumped. Find a friend to join you in your program. Try to schedule the same time daily that you want to run, preferably early morning or later in the evening if you want to avoid the sun, depending on where you live. I think the biggest thing that most people in your situation need is a good push. I know you can do it, just decide what you want to accomplish, make a short term plan, and put your plan into action! If you have any questions, feel free to reply or email me anytime. By the way, you can find my sports nutrition website at http://tenacious1.com ... Have a great day!

Just start back off slowly and work your way back into it. If you're not overweight and just merely out of shape from enjoying your summer, you can get back into it no time. Just don't push yourself too hard too fast. Good luck!
