Yes, these are probably sidewalk particles. Try washing the wound as well as you can stand with lots of plain water. Better yet, use the shower head -- this might get some of the black stuff out.

Let it air-dry, apply some triple antibiotic ointment, and cover with a loose dressing. Try to leave it unbandaged while you're walking around the house so it dries out.

The black stuff will probably work itself out over time, but you may be stuck with it forever. If you don't want it to be in your skin forever, you will have to go to your doctor to have the wound debrided (ouch.)

Ummm...those little black things are probably from the sidewalk. and kind of like a silver that is too deep, it will eventually work it's way out. There is always a chance of infection but use soap and warm water to clean out the scrape and put a bandage over it after it's been dried. Keep the wound clean and dry for the next few days and watch it closely for anything abnormal like swelling, sworeness, skin discoloration (red, black etc.),or unusual pus colors. you should be fine but if you notice any of this it's a sign of infection and you need to get into to see a doctor.

Ok.
If you haven't had a tetanus shot in the past 5 years, you need another.
If you have things stuck in the wound, yes it increases the chance of infection, you need them taken out, and antibiotics probably.
Go to the doctor or Er.
