He/she always wanted to do it and the fact that the significant other got drunk was their excuse. If this person really cared, they wouldn't have cheated on you at all. They would have made sure you a) got home safely or b) if you were drinking at your own house got into bed and made sure you were comfortable with a trash can near by in case you got sick. No self respecting guy (or girl) would do anything like that because it is rude, immoral, immature, and just down right mean.

OK, i was in a relationship with a guy for eight years. he cheated on me constantly. i didnt realize how often it was until we broke up. that is 8 years i am NOT going to get back. i dont know how old you are but dont waste any more of your time with a cheater. if he did it once chances are he will do it again. he may have been drunk, but if he told you about it than he wasnt too drunk to not know what he was doing. he obviously doesnt respect you so have respect in yourself.
it doesnt make the girl you know any better. Shes a skank for sleeping with someone else's bf. if you knew her than she knew you were dating him. there are other men out there, better men, dont waste your time, you'll just end up regretting it.

Being drunk lowers your inhibitions and ruins your judgement both. He cheated for these two reasons. He put himself in that position because he wanted to. Now he has to live with the consequences of breaking your trust.
He is weasling alot. Try for someone you can trust. If they do this now, why won't they later?

It's not an excuse at all. It's a cop out.
He knew what he was doing and he's now trying to cover his tracks so you don't dump him.
Kick his butt to the curb, it will happen again and again..
If you let it slide this time, there will be more times. Why not, he got away with it the first time.

everybody can have an excuse. this goes for him and her (she musta known you too right?). alcohol does lower the inhibitions but it never cause someone to screw around if they did not want to. if you love this guy you have better set him straight if the two of you have a real relationship. he did not tell you about this to hurt your feelings. find out if he is really sorry before you hit him with a 2x4 or kick him in the nuts. if you love each other work it out. if you do not then it is time to say goodbye.
