I wouldn't say it's weird. Definately stands out though. I've never heard of that last name before. But in the Customer Service business, I hear weird last names all the time. There was once this person's last name was "Just Got Shot". Yeah, Isom seems pretty normal suddenly!
I like your last name:)

I don't think it's weird at all. The last names came from the origin of your family. Back then when people didn't use last names they often had same first names. Then they started placing as last names what they do for a living or from where they live or from the names of their ancestors. For example are for a living is Smith, from where they came from is Moore, and from the descendants is O'Donnell. Just find out what's the meaning and you might find it's not weird at all, maybe you'll find out that you came from a distant land. Well anyway last names don't make the person. So don't let it bother you.

It's not weird. It's just more unique than say, Smith, or Jones. Try doing a search on Yahoo or Google, see if you can trace any family lines or learn where your name originates. Check out the website for Ellis Island, you can do searches of your name and see what documents they have for when people with that name entered the country. Those documents will say what country they were originally from. Have pride in your name!!

Not so unusual, it's Celtic in origin probably from people who lived by the river of the same name.
