To me it sounds like too much info from the start. First form a relationship. I noticed when I was little people would flip out scared not knowing what to do when my sister had a seizure in public. this is what a lot of people want to avoid. I know what you are going through, both my sisters had a hard time, and I commend the previouse post without an avatar Diana_D explaining how her husband and sons have it I had 2 sisters and my father that had it.

I don't think if you had AIDS or cancer that you would be very successful in the dating world either. Epilepsy is a scary illness to most people. When you mention Epilepsy to someone who has no experience with it, all they can picture are the seizures like you see in the movies.
Maybe you should try meeting women some where other than the internet. If they saw you in person, and talked to you before they knew what you have then maybe they wouldn't be as frightened by it. I have a good friend who is diabetic and epileptic and he just got married recently to a wonderful lady.
There are women out there who won't be scared off by this, just keep trying. Good luck!

My husband has epilepsy and so do my boys. They always dated.....and both are married now with kids. A good doctor can completely control it with medication.....the boys did have to do two things: NO DRINKING ...and 10-12 hours of sleep a night.
All the girls they dated knew and they had to wear the medical tags. People fear this be cause it is not discussed much...start talking about it. There may even be a sight support group. Did you know it is very common with geniuses? Their minds skip a beat because their minds work faster that they can ask or act.

Sometimes people are scared of something they know very little about before judging. I personally have know problem with anyone in this world, regardles of there illness, condition, looks, whatever.

In a way though I know why these people are running away after you tell them:

They dont know you very well anyway, so its easy to do, what I am saying is I am sure your a wonderful person and if you met a women in real life and she knew how kind and caring you were, your condition would not be a problem. However as these people dont know you like that, they are not interested in a person with a condition. If you see my point.

Goodluck with your future dating.

Why are you offering this information in the first place? These are people you do not know and have never met and your medical history is your business unless the relationship is intimate (ie, if you develop a close relationship this would be helpful to discuss in case you ever have a seziure in her presence). This may simply be a case of offering too much personal information too soon (a turn-off to most women). There is a time and a place to discuss everything...the internet is not one of them.

Its because they are scared. If they met you, liked you, and started dating you, that they would have to be extra-protective over you and act as nurses or doctors. They feel your fun and partying night outs and dates would probably be limited, and that if they ever moved in or got close, you could become sick and be hospitalized at any time. They are just scared that if they got close to you, they could lose you.

there are people who are not afraid of the unknown and pursue the interest with love and an interest to work with and know how to deal with situations that they have never come up to.
They are the ones who will be yours for ever.
Then there are ones who will run for fear of the unknown becouse they dont have it in them to with stand a better understanding and knowledge of something they dont understand.
They my friend are shallow in mind, weak in spirit and be glad that they do run becouse there just not for you to put any effort or your precous time.
Be patient as the one you yearn for will arise and you will be better for it.
She will stay and the both of you will be very happy and she will uphold you in the relatoinship and see you for who you are and not just for what you can give.

ok i will level with you... no woman/girl, wants to be embarrassed by your having a seizure in public and then they will not know wht to do. Ppl will then remember that they were with you when you had a siezure and they are afraid they will be forever embarrassed.
