Ok, So my dads computer won't let us download "Macromedia Flash 8 plugin" so we can't see any pictures or music videos via the web. How can we get this to work??? I looked on the website for help and I did what it said (so did my dad.) and it still wouldn't do anything. And it really stinks that we can't download it 'cause we can't really do anything on the web. I really need help on this one. Thanks for reading this and answering!!!!

I ve had the same problem macromedia8 flash pluin is old upgrade to the newest one which i think is version 9.12 which is more stable and by the way its now adobe flash since adobe purchased macromedia:PAY ATTENTION HERES THE LINK TO WHATS CALLED A STAND ALONE APPLICATION.
you do not have to wait on a web page to install this. It will download a file that you later double click and it will let you install flash player 9 for internet explorer but you have to look for it on your desktop

HERES WHAT I RECOMMEND SWITCH TO MOZILLA FIREFOX its the best and i recommend it it's 500 times more secure than internet explorer heres the link to download the browser:
http://www.mozilla.com/

LATER TO GET A MACROMEDIA FLASH FOR MOZILLA FIREFOX BROSER go to this link:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&P2_Platform=Win32&P3_Browser_Version=Netscape6

hope this helps!!!!!:>

Do you have Firefox, or IE?
Firefox- Sometimes has trouble downloading plugins, try installing manually off the Macromedia/Adobe website.
IE- Simply download off the Macromedia/Adobe website.
Other Browsers- I have absolutely no idea

sounds most likely to be a problem with internet explorer, try doing this, you can always uninstall these later... download mozilla from www.mozilla.com or opera from www.opera.com these are both alternative web browsers and SHOULD fix your problem...if it doesn't then it is more likely a problem with your dads internet connection or security settings(you can find details for both in control panel --> Network settings or control panel --> Internet Options (respectively) hope this helped

You could try disabling the firewall? Go to the icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen, right click on the firewall, and it should give you the option of disabling the firewall. Be sure and restart the computer after that, so it will be enabled again.

A question for you...are you trying to load a Mac program into a PC? If so, it won't work. Check the specs on the box.
