Dear religionists, all religions (including yours) teach man to have a pure, kindly and radiant heart. How do you understand this teaching and how do you put it into practice? I think that this practice will greatly contribute to the unity of mankind, how do you think? You also know that this is the most important matter in the world, because we cannot have peace, prosperity and progress... if we don't have this unity first.

I whole heartily agree with you dear friend. But the fact of the matter is that there are so many different religions, each claiming that they are the only true way. We as a people must somehow transcend the written word, and realize the essence of the message. And in doing so, try not to trivialize the different religions as they all contribute to the whole of understanding. They all will us to love and understanding. And is that not really what it is all about? To show love and compassion to all those around you, friend and foe alike. To give effort to try to understand them and their ways though their different than yours, then to respect them in their ways.
I'm sure you can see how difficult this will be. But if only one person will be the example, then others will follow, then others. Perhaps someday we will reach out to enough people to make a difference. Until then......

In Love and Peace, Aho,

Moral unity will take much time to accomplish. Two very influential faiths believe they are the One True Faith and all other faiths are False and Paths to Damnation. This is a major hinderance. It would be nice if we could teach moral and ethical behavior to children without referance to any particular religion, but I doubt that would be possible. It all starts with the children. They learn tolerance or intolerance at an early age. They also understand the nature of our primate being and must be taught compassion, caring, and to avoid the hostility that is innate within our beings. This could begin by teaching high schoolers, so they could teach their own children.
Any unity would have to be loose and flexible. That is known. Inflexible unity tends to seperate into different perspectives that antagonize each other for not having the 'real story'. You see this in Christianity and Islam. Both have various sects that even antagonize each other. Sunni and Shia, Catholic and Protestant. Moderation would be key and avoiding fanatical or extreme ways of teaching. It might be neccesary to go out and spread the idea of unity, kindness, and compassion. This is a bad comparrison, but it's like commercials on TV. The seller goes to the buyer to educate them on what they have for sale. They cannot expect the buyer to seek them out and make money. This isn't about money, but the advertisement of available options may enrich those who were ignorant about compassionate and kind avenues.
Another thing is to convince the leaders of the religions to not speak with antagonistic or disharmonious themes. This, most likely, means courting each individual church/mosque/temple/grove to encourage unity, compassion, and kindness to others. That's a lot of work.

Eliminate Religion itself. Yep, you heard me right, its up to these "religious" people to eliminate their own religion because of the ff reasons:
1. Religious movement is a collective effort. It means that a group of people would agree on something and they would push for a common belief that would suit their needs as a religious. Unity of mankind cannot exdisat here because every man has freewill and different set of needs.
2. Religions existed because of diversity. Variety of religion has existed because of different beliefs of men. If these beliefs were then consolidated by men, this would give them power of a collective. Hence, religion is really about power and control.
3. If government deals with norms and stature, religion deals with morals and cultural aspects of each collective individual. Religion has control over what a person would want to think and follow before norms. Would this lead to unity?
4. Last, unity is to death as diversity is to life. Humans are united upon death but diverse when alive. --I got this from a philosophy prof.
Good Question.

There's no way a religionist (as you put it) can teach a person to have a pure, kind, radian, heart. Why do I think this? Because a lot of our hatred, killing, torture, and wars are caused by religious differences. Until all mankind either accepts ONE fictitious being as god or all agree the there is no god, then there will never be kind heated people that are religious (or not).

You might think this practice would "greatly contribute to the unity of mankind" but you would be wrong. Try it sometime. All it gets you is run over by more dominant people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I'm just letting you know how it goes down in real life.

The only thing which can bring peace to earth is "freedom of religion" .
You and all christians and any other religious groups which would help can start the ball rolling. Start origanizations which demand complete freedom of religion on earth. Force your congrssmen to enact ;laws which state we will not trade with no country which does not allow complete freedom of religion. But as long as christinaity , or muslims seeks to force their religion into schools, and the government, and our evey day lives there will never be peace. Christains think that once they get their religion established into our schools and govenment there be peac eand their will be the only one but it isn't so. If you aschristinas forc eyour religion into schools and the government than every religion and crackpot religious group will demand asnd get thje same treatment under our laws.
So constrate on getitng freedom of religion all over the planet. Support the struggles of women in India, China, and all of the middle eastern, and asian muslims in their quest for freedom and equality. This is the stepping stone for peace.

The religous people would keep quiet and do not poke their nose into the life of others , the world would be happy. Let eveyman have his religon for himself just as he has his wife for himself . let him not expose his wife to others.or invite other s to share his wife.
The whole world would be happy if the religous people will do one work definitely . Just keep aloof and do not work for world peace .Just work within their respective community engaging in the day -tooday prayers alone .If they disassociate themselves forn any work towards world peace and stop meddling with the faiths of others, , there won't be terrorism in the world today. All the problems all over the world are the children of the religous people only. and of none else .
Religon is the bane of humanity in this present world . The business of religon is in a cut throat competition now .to the deteriment of world peace.

If we had unity then we would have peace. I do my best to be kind and fair to all I meet especially people of a different race or religion. But it is not always reciprocated. Many people are prejudice and will never accept another person who is different from them.

Read their responses. You'll know why religious people can't unify. Their only common ground is God. But they can't keep the focus and instead be drown on only the peace they can understand. That's why Jesus said he would bring sword instead of peace. Because Jesus knew the kind of peace we have is not the same peace God wants us all to have. He meant to enforce God's peace that would drive wedge to imperfect peace offered by the faith.

As people who believe in God and follow His revelations, let us rally to a common formula - "faith". Let's love God, Who is our Creator and Lord, and follow His commands. And let us pray God to lead us to an even straighter path. When Muslims, Christians and Jews rally to a common formula this way; When they understand that they are friends not enemies, then the world will become a very different place.
