Sounds like your cat is normal to me. It depends on age and so forth. If you use the clumping litter and change it everyday then you can tell more if your vet thinks you need to know. Be careful someone as concerned as you might be a vets best clients. I had one vet keep me going for way to long on hope for an older cat and one dog. Unless there is a certain problem with your kitty I would not be to concerned with his peeing and pooping on a daily bases.

I don't know that much about cats, but I wouldn't worry unless you see something. If you feel that would be too passive, you could always ask the vet. But I don't think you can exactly calculate how many times they should pee. Now see, the cat I live with is delightful and the box is almost always in use with no trouble. Yet other cats I have known don't go hardly at all. As for the correct ratio, like I said, I don't think you can get that kind of information even from a veteran. This is one of those veterinary questions and so if I were you, I'd either leave the cat alone or ask the vet the question instead.

If he's peeing extra circumstances some days than others, noticeably if he's likewise crying, or peeing someplace else, he would have a urinary concern it incredibly is coming and going, so it would desire to be incredibly worth getting that checked. Cats who've soreness while they pee would desire to attempt peeing someplace else interior the wish that it will no longer injury there, so which you will finally end up with a cat wandering around crying and doing little pees in all places. i'd say regularly occurring may well be purely a pair of circumstances an afternoon, or some extra, yet i think of somebody cat is regularly going to pass especially lots the comparable form of circumstances each and daily.

My grown one year old cats urinate about 4-6 times daily, and poo at least twice. They are on Science Diet and I've had excellent results. They have both been neutered and don't have any problems. Of course, I clean their litter several times a day. I also started using the new crystal litter and find it great. There is no tracking clay and is last so much longer. It does cost more but well worth the extra for a cleaner smelling litter. Make sure your cat gets plenty of fresh water daily. I'd change it twice a day and keep the bowl clean.

I have a siamese and a tuxedo cat, and they both pee about 3-4 times a day. And they poo once or twice. Your cat seems normal. Some people usually think it depends on how much water a cat drinks, but half of the time, it's not. They just go, but they have to have at least a little water in them to pee agian I think.

You certainly seemed concerned enough about your cat to have researched this. To be honest I have several cats and have never really considered doing this.
I can tell you this, if your cat is a large male, the vet may be concerned about urinary infections or blockage. Large male cats are more proned in experiencing urinary blockage, which is very painful and even after treatment, the cats shy away from using the litterbox because they associate the pain of being blocked with using the litterbox.
I have large male cats and have had them on Purina Urinary Care for several years now and have not had a problem. This I learned the hard way after loosing a large male cat to urinary blockage that was treated but he refused to use the litter box after that.

Well...it all would kind of depend on how much your cat eats or drinks in one day. So it will vary from time to time. Each cat is different. My cat's pee to poo ratio is about 4:2 on most days. I think your cat is perfectly fine. :) Have a good week.

It will vary by the cat, but it sounds as if your cat is fine and normal. It's hard for me to tell which of my cats go how often because there are two boxes and they both use both....lol. But I think they both pee about 3-4 times a day, and poop once or twice.

peeing three times a day doesnt sound like a lot. maybe this is a question for your vet?
i also feed my cats science diet and they love it. One of my cats used to get crystals, this kept him from peeing and would have to have surgery to have them removed. but since we started feeding him science diet he hasnt had any crystals.
for litter we use fresh step in the box, its the one where the litter clumps so u can remove pee from the litter box if you dont have time to clean it right away. And eliminates odor!
