Ok I'm I guess you could say an active person..I don't really stay in my house that much anymore..I'm 6'2" at the age of 17. I started doing like 3 reps of pushups about 15 each rep and I noticed a big change in my arms of course. I play basketball outside everyday for about 45 minutes to an hour long. I'm not really all that fat just my stomach basically...I started doing crunches and felt the burn at the start then like after 3 days I couldn't feel any burn...as if I was doing it wrong or something. I don't run outside like I should and drink soda. My question is should I start running a lot...if so how much? And I heard water is good for you when excersizing...should I also cut down on soda? The most running I could do was like half a mile, without falling down and dying, which I know is bad cause I'm sort of out of shape. I am impressed with the pushups though it has worked great. I tried situps but those gave me back problems the next day when I had to work...How should I workout?

It sounds like you need to incorporate more aerobic exercise in your routine. You may also be overdoing the sit-ups. Too many of those with incorrect body mechanics and execution will actually lead to injuries and poor posture. But one important thing you failed to mention was YOUR DIET. I bet if you cut down on those sugary sodas and fruit drinks you won't even have a belly in 4 weeks. You are obviously putting more sugar into your body than you use in a day. SUGAR STORES AS FAT in your body. Be more conscious of the food that your putting into your mouth. Make wiser choices like whole grains, lean proteins, and nutrient rich veggies and fruits. Don't bother training your body if you don't get your diet right. Any personal trainer like my husband (certified by ISSA, NASM, ACSM, and NSCA) will tell you that a low-fat and low-sugar diet accounts for a major aspect ( up to 70 percent) in succeeding fat loss. Don't waste time targeting your stomach through hundreds of crunches or sit-ups. If you alter your diet, fat loss will naturally give you a flat tummy. Best Wishes!
P.S. If you're very serious, try asking a parent to hire a certified personal trainer and/or nutrition expert. Offer to help pay the costs with a part time job.

Run 36 miles every other day, then do 10 reps of 4,000 push-ups; 30 reps of 10,000 sit-ups and just stop eating altogether, and only drink water with lemon! If you follow this regiment the gut should disappear in about four weeks, give or take ten weeks.
