Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security. I had a trial version on my computer and it worked well. It's expired now so I use McAfee, which is also pretty good. I chose it because it's free for me cuz I am a gov. employee. Normally, I use Norton, but this year's addition has flaws in it, and it doesn't seem worth it for the money they charge. The biggest thing I didn't like was hearing that it actually waits for viruses to install before removing them. Anyway, CNET did a study, and here's the link:http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6600_7-6379091-1.html

Best free one would be AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.1.394. I've heard nothing but great stuff about it everywhere.

AVG is great. I think that's the one you'll get if you use the link that another answerer gave you to grisoft. Avast is also excellent. I have one on one computer and one on the other; I haven't had any viruses on either one. Both AVG and Avast are free. Since 19 September is official Talk Like a Pirate Day, I really should say go try the Avast.

Google the names AVG and Avast to find addresses where you can get these.

DO NOT GET NORTON 2006!!!!!

The best bet for your laptop computer is probably McAfee Anti-Virus. This program enables just enought security that it isn't constantly asking questions. This is the best way to go.

Remember this when looking for antivirus/spyware/firewall software:
Good Program=$$.
Paid Programs:
Norton and McAfee both have entire security suites that include antivirus, antispyware, and firewall programs (another option for a firewall is to use the firewall built into windows).
Free Progams:
You can find plenty of free programs and reviews at http://www.download.com

AVG is an outstanding anti-virus application, yet whilst they do no longer look to be many times linked to the internet, they won't vehicle replace. yet whilst your laptops do connect, they could desire to the two vehicle replace or you are able to manually tell it to replace and you'd be secure and sound. desire this helped.

Use ANTIVIR. Why? It's EASY to use and really POWERFUL!

Imagine the things you configure other antivirus, but with ANTIVIR, just install and the only thing you should remember everyday is just see on your system tray if the umbrella is open and nothing more!
