There are many ways that excessive TV watching can affect one's health. The worst one for adults is weight gain. If you watch three hours of TV a day, you are far more likely to be obese than if you who watch less than one hour, according to an American Journal of Public Health study.
The effect that TV has on children may be even worse. Children are more likely to be influenced by what they see on TV because their value and belief systems are not yet fully formed.
By the age of eighteen, the average child in America has seen 200,000 acts of violence on TV, including 40,000 murders. This acts to desensitize children to violence and murder.

Only if you spend too much time watching it. I love television but we all have to have some physical activity.

Yes. If you drop one on your foot, you can break a toe. Watching the programming that is transmitted onto it turns your brain into a substance not unlike guacamole dip.

Sure. If you sit too close to it you can strain your eyes and if you sit in front of it during all your free time, you're bound to gain weight and be out of shape.
