My children or my material possessions. I just have to have my huge house and new car, even if I can't afford it. But what the heck, thats why I can work overtime or two jobs. I'm sure the kids wouldn't mind.

As a parent I couldn't possibly imagine ever valueing something more than the life of my own child. I really hope you're joking with this. You might need to sit down and review your priorities. I certainly would walk through the fires of hell and battle satan himself for my child anyday. Rather than sit in my nice big house and drive my fancy car that I can't afford just because I "have" to have them. "Things" can be replaced....children can't.

This is why I had my children young. That way when my husband graduates college, gets a good paying job, and we can afford all the toys, my children will be old enough to enjoy the toys we buy. Plus, we'll only have to share them with the kids for a few years until we send them to college! The best of both worlds! But, if I had to choose....definitely kids!!

If you don't have kids yet it is ok. If you already have kids then stay home and take care of them. You can work when they are in school. Put yourself in their shoes, who did you want to take care of you when you were small, your mom or a stranger that doesn't really care? As a matter of fact if you put your possessions above your kids then what about your husband? You won't really care if he has a substitute wife to sleep with will you? After all, you are busy working for that new car. The kids can have a substitute mom and hubby has a substitute wife, sound ok?
