Me and my boyfriend have been in a debate over whether his eating habits are normal or not. On most days, he'll have a small salad and a bowl of cereal. Later in the evenings, he'll want to eat something along the lines of 2 cheese quesdillas...Some of the time I can get him to have a chicken cutlet along w/ it. He says he eats when he's hungry, however, it seems like the amount he eats just isn't much...Especially if he doesn't eat much of a dinner [he tends to wanna skip dinner once a week]. He doesn't get terribly hungry very often, and he claims his appetite is fine. I know it isn't bad if he has many small meals during the day, but it seems like the amount he eats all together barely makes an entire meal. He claims that he's had an appetite like this for a long time. Is this all ok?

Sidenote: He has Epstein-Barr [chronic tiredness]. If he's not eating corretly right now, could he be making things worse for himself?

I very much wish I knew the right answer to this question--when youre cooking for yourself and also have fatigue problems it may be even more of an issue; if youre really too tired to cook for yourself .. . I feel more energetic lately when I eat less--but also I have at least 20 lbs to lose so I try to just eat when I really feel hungry--but today for example I have only had a little bread and butter, some ice water, and some coffee; but I dont really feel hungry right now--it must be working because I'm slowly losing the weight and am progressively feeling healthier with this method! Some days I eat more, some days less. Maybe it has to do with biorhythms.

A healthy eating habit depends on the person. Usually it ends up being either 3 medium or 4 small meals a day. Without proper nutrition, the body will start to eat itself - starting with muscle than fat (why anorexics are so skinny). This will make you more tired, which will not be good for his Epstein-Barr. It's good that he has someone like you to help him. Take him to a nutrition specialist, and he or she will help him to change his diet to something more suitable. Good Luck!

The average male should be eating about 1800 calories a day and more if he is active. 5 small meals a day, he's definitely not reaching his daily intake of his vegetables. My Pyramid is a free website and very helpful. You can plug in your age, sex, and activity level and it tells you what your calorie intake should be and can even track your calories by adding in the foods you ate for the day.

You should really get him Medical help maybe a sychologist and a nutritionist... There has to be something wrong; normally it's 3 big meals and snacks in between or 6 small meals and maybe some snacks in between but the way he's eating it's not healthy or normal at all!!!

It sounds like his mom did not ever truly feed him in any respect. he's gorging himself and then no longer eating for days at a time. it truly is habit commonplace of people who're ravenous. He ought to easily imagine it truly is time-honored, having grown up with it. you want to seek for suggestion from with him about attempting usual foodstuff for only a month. you could strengthen a habit in 21 days. both way, it truly is not any longer healthy. The tape malicious program isn't what's doing this. it truly is ridiculous. he's were given some subject matters, and that i'm no longer confident that seeing a well being care specialist or a psych does no longer be out-of-line.

is he losing weight? or does his weight remain the same? he doesn't do as much as others due to his illness right? so he doesn't need as many calories. if he isn't losing weight relax!!!! if he starts to lose weight (like15-20lbs) have him see his doctor.

Not a DR, but...............
Could be lack of protein.
Get his Dr to talk to you about this.
If his Dr says he is fine and eating OK, then relax.
