It is quite possible that you might have a stomach ulcer. The pain from an ulcer can range anywhere from mild cramping to intense burning. Depending on the location of the ulcer you will hurt when you eat. The lower down the ulcer, the sooner the food will hit it therefore the pain will start sooner. The best way to test this other than going to the doctor is to eat. When it starts hurting, drink milk or eat ice cream, if the pain subsides then all of a sudden hurts as bad or worse than before, you probably have one. the ice cream or milk coats the stomach for a short while. That is why this technique usually works. If the pain continues you really need to be seen by a doctor to see if it is something serious. If it is an ulcer, it is important to get treatment as soon as possible so it doesn't become a bleeding ulcer which can be dangerous.

I had the same problem. Mine was a combination of stress and smoking. Many people feel that these things plus spicy foods can give you indigestion or even an ulcer. Wrong. Ulcers are
caused by viruses (not like the flu). You could also be taking too much pain reliever. Look at what you are taking. Too much Pepto is bad also. I'm not a Dr, but it sounds like you either have acid reflux which you NEED to get checked out on, having a side effect of too much aspirin or something that states on the bottle that it is an NSAID. You may even have a HIATIAL HERNIA which is where your esophagus doesn't empty directly into your stomach but makes a kind of bulge or a detour by making something like hills and then reaches your stomach. This causes the food or drink to kind of sit right under your breasts causing nausea, dull and sharp pain that can radiate towards your back. Check out your city's local hospital and clinic that cares for people that have no insurance. There's 1 just about in every major city and is usually called a "charity hospital or clinic". There's nothing to be ashamed of. The state maintains these hospitals and clinics. I have used them myself and received excellent care. What you pay depends on your finances from zero to very low payments. Don't let pride keep you from checking this out. Your life is more important that being embarrassed.
Feel better soon and I hope this has helped you.

I just got through sharing this for another gal. Here I go again. I have had every test there is, they all come back negative. I guess it is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I could not eat, almost died from dehydration, and starvation. I can not explain the pain I had when I would eat. Anyway, I take a swig of Aloe Vera Juice ( which puckers my face up from the taste). After I eat I take 2 Multi-Enzyme pills (I order them from Puritan's Pride when they are on sale, or get them at Health Food store. I make my own Yogurt and eat alot of it. Now the doctors have me on Zelnorm, it seems to help some. At first I had diarhea, then it turned to constipation. I got down to 87 lbs. I now weigh 93lbs. I need to gain 22lbs. to get to my normal weight. This is my goal. It has been almost 2 years since I have been sick. My mind is made up that I am going to beat this, slowly, but surely. I would like to hear from you to find out how you are and if you found something that helps to share with me. I do not have insurance either, but go to a free clinic. I go so much that they know me, and send me to specialists, or anything I ask. They watched me go down hill. Check on free clinics in your area. I don't know how to give you my email without perverts or smart asses emailing me. Good luck to you and I will pray for you tonight, ok? My aunt has the same thing, only she has had it for 7 yrs. I feel so sorry for her, her life is the bed. Mine used to be, but, as I said, I WILL beat this and have a normal life. You will too!

Gosh, you may have to bite the bullet and get it checked out any way despite no health insurance. One of those walk in emergency places will cost about $50 plus any meds you might be prescribed and any tests. It could be an ulcer. Your are awfully thin for your height, not that that causes a belly ache. Try eating yogurt with live cultures. Try ginger ale, applesauce, dry toast and hot milk, bananas. If it is acid indigestion, you can try a little baking soda or alka-selzer in water. Good luck.

Get yourself heartburn pills. Ranitidine is good. It could be really bad gas and when I'm feeling the same way that's what I take. I know it says for heartburn but it helps your stomach too. You can buy it in any grocery store, generic form. About 4.00 a box and there's about 30 pills. Look in the pills isle and look for Ranitidine, next to the other heartburn pills.

go to a couny hospital or clinic. There are free ones. You don't need insurance. If there are none in your city or county, go to a larger more populated area and you will find one. Also, you don't need insurance if you go to an emergency room, but you will have a big bill.
