i would sujest just being honest tell him exactly why you cant go out with him anymore. it may be had to say but in the end you he will know the true reason. or you could always go with the "i would rather be your friend, i like you alot but more as a friend" deal. hope i helped a little

just tell him you cherish his friendship and presence in your life but not as boyfriend material. it is going to be difficult no matter what and whatever time you choose. just be completely honest and gentle. good luck.
