I am in complete agreeence with "a-lister" everyone "unfortunatly" is subject to be stereotyped...it's just one of those things that life says u must go by, on the contrary it is how you respond to this soo called "stereotype".For example, if some1 says ur stupid well that DOES NOT mean that you have to be that way just because of society acceptance of ur stupidity.It's ALWAYS soo funn to prove ppl wrong.Look back a couple of years ago and unfortanally still 2dayy some let me say that again SOME ppl believe that ppl of color are not capable of acheving academic success BUT those ppl have been constantly proven wrong look at these wonderful ppl,that were not only intelligent but honorable also....Martin Luther King Jr.,Rosa Parks,even today we have Codalizza Rice(sry 4 the spelling). That is a PERFECT example of how u can overcome stereotype. Is by being you and MAKING ppl know you as an indivisual rather than a group.

Yes. I get stereo typed for the type of books I read. I am often thought of being immoral and stupid because they may have suggestive titles and or covers. I actually have very high morals (I don't believe in divorce except in rare circumstances but the people who judge me are often divorced or have no regrets about it) and I also have a fairly high IQ (not to brag) but I know the difference between fiction and reality and that sometimes immersing yourself in a fictional world helps take the stress away from the real world. I guess some people don't or can't understand that.

yes we are all stereotyped no matter who we are! I am stereotyped as a christian or other ways a goody-goody!!
no matter what we should not let people bring us down, there is nothing wrong with being who you are!! never be afraid to show your true self!! those that stereotype are also being stereotyped and they will learn that later in life so just keep doing what you are doing!!

in what way? I am heavy set and yes, a lot of people stereotype heavy people and are biased against heavy people. I don't agree with the stereotypes though and consider it as bad as being racist....it's wrong.

all stereotypes are false people should look at someone as an individual and not as a group of people. If I was to say that if one black person robbed a store then they all do, NO thats stupid, people need to grow up

I don't know what all stereotypes others have of me, but I'm sad to say that some of them are true.

I'm black/cuban, so to a casual observer I look black. I like rap (amongst other music), fried chicken, watermelon, and a host of others. But I am not, and never have been, a gang member or other criminal, nor have I ever smoked crack.

1) I'm dark-skinned so people assume I'm black-false
2)i'm hispanic so people assum i'm illigal and Mexican-false, I'm was born in Philidelphia,PA and am Nicaraguan and Costa Rican and mixed.
3)I'm punk/goth so people think i hate people and worship the Devil-false, I just like it because I do i don't hate people for no reason before i get to know them, i have friends of all sub-cultures and I'm an agnostic Christian.

Stereo types are just ignorant thinking.
