I have herd and been told that storing an open can with food is dangerous. Is this a myth or truth? Other then rust problems what are some reason why it is unsafe to store in a can?

the contents of the can becomes oxidizes by oxygen in air and it may spoil food without u noticing it. i switch it to a topper wear container

Yeah, it's true. Because the can is open, you are opening up the chances of infections. Fruits and vegetables that are stored in open cans set up harmful bateria that could stomach problems if returned to for eating purposes. Because the cans were sealed to prevent the bateria from forming. So if you open a can, then store it in a safe container to prevent anything harmful to happen to your or anyone else's body.

I was always told once a can is open put the contents in a glass jar, or plastic container.

food in a opened can not only rusts but germs can get in it and it also dries out. always put the food in a container with top or cover it with foil or saran wrap............
