eh, i'd have to say it almost borders on eccentric. i'd recommend leaving it on the lounge if you decide to take a dip in the pool but other than that i think it to be a noble, worthwhile passion. the people who think you're weird will be pumping your gas and offering you fries with your coke. not that there's anything wrong with a hard days work. it's just that expanding your mind and the knowledge you gain can open many doors. read on, eruditical one.
p.s.
please relax the kung fu grip and leave the book at home on your birthday. sometimes people, i.e., your guests deserve more attention than your reading material. depending on how old you are, have a drink or pin a tail on a donkey, whatever. enjoy your time with your friends and just have fun, happy birthday.

Yes. that is perfectly normal. I even envy someone like you. I am also fond of reading a book but I am a type of a person who reads a book very slowly. So sometimes I become sick and tired of it without finishing the book. I think whatever you read is the best thing you can do in the world. Especially, I recommend you to read a comic book. Have you ever read a comic book named kiseiju? Even though it is kind of horrific and gross, once you read it all, you are going to be touched deeply.

p.s - I am not sure whether there are English versions you can download.

There's nothing wrong with it. If you enjoy reading so much, I can understand why you bring it everywhere.
But sometimes you should take a break and spend more time with your friends and family. Because it probably is a bit insulting to them that you open up a book in front of them instead of talking to them.
I don't think that it's the most polite thing to do in front of other people, but when you're not around people then sure, go ahead!

It's okay if you like to read, but you have to put the book down at some point and have a social life too. Don't read at your party! You're supposed to hang out and have fun, besides that would be rude to leave your company and go off reading.

Bravo for your reading passion -- too few people seem to be reading much these days!
BUT...on your birthday??? It IS your party and you can read if you want to, but if you ever want to see any of your guests again, it would be much more warm and welcoming to socialize with them.
Otherwise, why not spend your birthday on your own, curled up in a comfy chair, book in hand?
Happy Birthday!

well its not weird because i love to read i don't take books to stores but i usually take the book i'm reading to some places you mention, if the book is really interesting and I just can't stop reading it.
We all have different interests ,some more than others . But it is normal maybe it's not common ,but its certainly not weird.

Hey it's cool to be a bookworm! They're a silent friend who'll never let you down and will take you on new and exciting forays into the realms you'd never imagine on your own. Keep reading all you want- it also raises your intelligence level, and we all could use a llttle more of that!

perfectly normal, dnt worri, my mum and my lil sis are both lyk dat, they're readaholics, it jus means dat u have an imagnative and creative mind. some people find normal life boring, true as is may b, and need an outlet for ther mind to focus on somefing else. i'm 15, so i wud have to say if u wer my age, jus go with the flow, and dnt let people make u grow up to quick and never let them stop u from doing the things u enjoy.

It's totaly normal. You looove to read, and that's that. If your friends continue to make fun, turn the tables with a remark like "at least I can read" or "Jealous much?" with a smile of course. If it helps, i like to think for an hour before i go to bed each night. sometimes i'll make up poems. if i don't write it down, i can't sleep. it just doesn't feel...right...unless i write it down.
