The whether is kind of wet. Fall lasts from October to November there. Be prepared for lots of rain. It will be hot and wet in the beginning.

I don't know what the first answerer is talking about, the rainy season ended in august. there is barely any rain at all these days....

anyway, you're in for a REAL treat, korea is internationally famous for it's incredible autumn weather and scenery, infact the best time to come IS in the short autumn months of october-early december. You won't have to worry too much about it being cold, korea is located in between the 38th and 34 the parallels roughly equivalet from Los angeles to sacramento, so the weather is relatively warmer than you would expect,

it does snow here, but not much, in the northern most parts of south korea, you may only expect a couple inches of snow and in the south, less than that to none. I don't think you will need a PARKA, but deffinetely a hoodie, or windbreaker for the autumn months, the weather's not much different from somewhere along the lines of Nebraska or kentucky.

You will have so much to see, in autumn, it's incredibly beautiful. the mountains turn into an array of golden hills and the valleys are ready for the rice harvest with brilliant clear skies up above. you should deffinetly visit seorak-san mountain during this time, the view is incredible and the foilage gets into the waterfalls creating a golden stream. you can also experience many festivals and holidays in autumn, such as "Chuseok" (harvest moon festival) which is coming up on October 6th.

i really hope you enjoy your time and stay cool!

Rainy season is in July not October. In fact this is a great time to visit Korea, not too hot, and usually not more than a little cool. Really nice right now in fact. Last week was a little cool some days and we had some wicked wind on the weekend, but otherwise my favourite times of year here are spring and autumn. First week of October is Chusok this year, so should be a nice time to visit, and where I live it is the Chung Ju World Martial Arts Festival that week. A really awesome event with martial arts demonstations from all over the globe. It is really very amazing to watch all the displays that are put on. It is run at the same time as the Ureuk Cultural Festival. So you get to see a wide array of displays, and with the hotsprings nearby it is a great place to visit. http://www.chungju.chungbuk.kr/

I've been living in Korea since 1994. Right now its just warm days enough to wear a short sleeve, and at night a sweater or thin jacket. Monsoon season (raining season) is over, so It won't rain as much. If you are only here for a short while, you'll do just fine with a sweater. But if you're going to stay for a month or two, I'd suggest to bring a warm jacket.. The autumns here are quick.
