tell me about it!! im turning 17 next month and im dreading it too! maybe we hate the fact that we're growing up and we'll pretty much have to 'fend for ourselfs soon? i think after a while you just get sick of all the "hype" about your birthday and what you plan to do to celebrate it each year.

i dont look forward to mine either. I never really have. I think some people are just into birthday and like the attention. My birthday is next week. I got no plans. Im in a new town too and its kinda nice not to have the added birthday pressure.

im like that too. i dont want anybosy to know bu when it comes around i hate if someone forgets. The lucky thing about my birthday though is that its during christmas break so ill just invite one or two close friends and we will go out to dinner. with my family and them.
but dont worry about it too much. hope that helped and good luck.

Well my roomate also hates her birthday, then again she is very newly single and the guy friend who she is kind of seeing gave her a locket and every time she wears it she feels like she is suffocating. Last year her dad bought her flowers because he said that he said that no one else would. hope this helps ya.

I'm the same, i tell all my friends I don't celebrate it. My 19th passed by unnoticed but that made me feel sad too. You can't really win but i know exactly what you mean. I like my friends birthdays though.

They should respect your wishes.......took me forever to get through to my mom that he prefered pizza and one or two friends...just tell them you prefer a small quiet affair...maybe dinner out. Your old enough to know what you want and they need to respect that.

As long as you don't put any expectations on it and treat it as any other day, you will never be disappointed.
