I,m Catholic, and love my Lord and my God beyond words, the Episcopal Church appears to be in a turmoil at present. Gay bishops etc. I guess I could go on for hours or more. Do Episcopal priests have the same training, credentials, priestly powers from Christ?????? If I convert to the Anglican church will I GO TO HEAVEN???????????

Episcopalians believe in Apostolic Succession and, quite frankly, adhere more strictly to the original liturgy of the church than the Catholics do. As far as the Gay Bishop thing goes, there is only one gay bishop, and the church is deeply divided on whether he should hold office. In fact, you'll find many far more conservative congregations than liberal ones.

However, I would like to point out this as a strength of the Episcopal faith. Whereas our Catholic brethren tend to adhere to dogma no matter what, regardless of whether there is a valid scriptural basis or not, the Episcopal faith is more of an ongoing exploration of our relationship with God based on Scripture, Tradition, and Reason.

Even the Pope himself said there are many roads to God. You have to make a choice with your own conscience, prayerfully arrived at. However, spending the rest of your life in a church where you silently disagree with what's being said the pulpit (Or quit attending) is really no way to have a healthy relationship with God.

first of all, if you are a Christian you will go to heaven, no matter what church you belong to. It doesn't matter what denomination, it's all Christian. Yes, the Episcopal church is in turmoil, but the day to day operations, services, spirituality is all pretty much business as usual. The Episcopal church is a loving, accepting church and has brought me much happiness and spiritual comfort. It has it's problems, and some people are busy pushing a liberal political agenda, very sad. Please give it a try. Some of it's traditions are like the Catholic church, so you should feel at home.

According to the Catholic Church, Episcopal priests do not have valid orders - and thus don't have apostolic succession. So that's a major difference.

I'm also a Catholic. In the past I have checked out many different religions. It's good to broaden your horizons. Knowledge makes you better informed. Then let it take you where you receive the spiritual food you need.
If you believe Jesus died for our sins then everyone goes to heaven. He died for all sins not just some.

Well maybe we can't decide its God who is The Judge.. so if you believe in Jesus there is hope but when you have sinned only God can forgive your sin but a ordained roman catholic priest has only the power to retain or forgive as the apostles passed this down through the other disciples since Jesus gave this abillity to the apostles John 20

23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained

and only Catholic Priest consecrate bread and blood until the real body of Christ which is important for our soul

26 And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body. 27 And taking the chalice, he gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this. 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins. 29 And I say to you, I will not drink from henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father

that is how Jesus consecrated the bread and the wine he wants us to commemerate (remeber and practice) this consecration and only Catholic Priest who have authority passed down from the apostles have this right.

Corinth. Chapter 11 26For as often as you shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come. 27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. 52 If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. 53 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 54 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. 55 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.

and also

16 Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. 20 Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

Peter was given to be the Vicar of Christ and Jesus said this what Peter said it would be done thus Peter who became the First Pope made his head quarters at Rome where before his death He gave his succession to Pope Linus a man converted by Peter then the succession was past on The True Church is the Church of Rome...

But it's your choice if you Love Jesus and avoid sin you may be saved Jesus is the judge anyways.... are epsicoals and anglicans the same thing?.... AND YOU DON"T JUST GO TO HEAVEN THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS as some protestants might be telling you

James Chapter 2
18 But some man will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without works; and I will shew thee, by works, my faith.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?...
